Automatic Re-Centering

By way of background, I have a Celestron 5se . As it's not the best mount/weight combo, I'll get a fair amount of drift over 5 minutes. Adding more weight with autoguiding only makes matters worse. So, when the driftgraph shows too much drift, I pause stacking and then use the scope controls to move...

Plate Solving Hand Control

Hi-
I have a celestron mount with USB connection. If I goto a target using the hand control and then adjust the position via sharpcap plate solving, will this work, or does the scope need to be controlled via planeterium software.

Re: Astrophotpography

Hi- I started about a year ago and have a Celestron 5se. I haven a zwo 224 and zwo 290. Both have been excellent. The biggest difference is that the 290 has a very small pixel size, so more detail. This is a good link that describes all the zwo cameras, but also more general parameters. https://agen...

Re: ZWO ASI 294MC PRO

I occasionally have this issue, but can always get it to work. -make sure parallels tool box is installed -make sure windows drivers are installed -when you plug in camera, a window should appear asking whether too hook i...

planetary images- best format

Is there any advantage to capturing an AVI file versus multiple still frames?
Other than a FITs file, which format best preserves detail?

thanks
