Re: Can Sharpcap produce individual flat frames?

Gary I might have mis-read your question (should have gone to bed instead). My answer (the document) relates to the traditional way of imaging - capture lights, darks, bias and flat frames, then process them using software such as Deep Sky Stacker, Astro Pixel Processor, Pixinsight, Siril etc. The C...

Re: Can Sharpcap produce individual flat frames?

Gary

This viewtopic.php?f=35&t=2552 should get you started. Note that in Sharpcap 4 there is a drop down on the Toolbar to select the type of frame. This is written into the FITS header and may be used by image processing software.

Re: How to get beyond USB cable problems

Thanks for pointing that out Brian. For me, reliability is king and that is why I favour wired networks.

Re: How to get beyond USB cable problems

Can we set up this remote desktop via WiFi only? Yes. If the laptop outside can see your home wireless network then the PC inside will be able connect to the laptop via Remote Desktop. The laptop would need to be running a Professional (rather than Home) version of Windows. I have also managed remo...

Re: M31, 100x60s, Altair 183C

Thanks Tim. I am keen to add another 2 sets of 100 frames to see the effect. This was captured at home (North East of Manchester) under Bortle 6 skies. 3 years ago my main processing skills were: over stretch (because of poor data) and destroy colour introduce large amounts of noise The weather has ...

Re: NGC7635+M52 & M27, Altair 183C, Bortle 4

Tim

Both images were captured in a field where my caravan is sited (on Anglesey, Bortle 4). I had everything trimmed down to the simplest possible configuration, used widest field of view and left the guider at home.

The Nova is down to Menno.

Re: M31, 100x60s, Altair 183C

Thanks Menno. M31 is well placed for me this month. I want to try to push up my integration times. I have an Altair 183M that I could use to add some Ha frames as well.

Same camera, 3 years ago, some improvement:
