Barry Have a look at this http://www.uwe-sieber.de/usbtreeview_e.html . If you download the utility and run it with the camera plugged in (do it on the bench) it will show ports as: * H, High Speed = USB2 * S, Super Speed = USB3 I have suspicions about some of these ports being put out these days an...

From File > SharpCap Settings > Filenames TAB
Click 'Test Write Speed' button, then OK
Wait ...... for the test to complete (there is no intermediate feedback).
Post back ALL the figures in the results window + the SharpCap version from Help > About.

Would there be any danger of driver downgrades if installing say v2.10 and then v2.9 or is each major version self contained?
