Re: GHY168C camera no image shows

Eureka!! I finally got Sharpcap to fully recognize my camera and show images. I had to completely uninstall the QHY drivers and app. It took two attempts at downloading and installing the QHY all-in-one thanks to Windows outrageously tight security. Even then it took several repeat step to validate ...

Re: GHY168C camera no image shows

Well Robin, I am back and tried both EZCap and again Sharpcap on my Windows laptop. EZCap did not either recognize or list my QHY168C camera. I still cannot get any feed from the camera in Sharpcap. I will reinstall the QHY drivers pack and leave all the defaults checked. First I used the app on my ...

Re: GHY168C camera no image shows

Hi Robin.
First, I installed that app and will try it when weather permits, and I have my mount back together.
I did try the Still, and Force Still modes, with no change.
I am also waiting to hear from one of the China based QHY support reps.
They are on the New Year break until the 18th.

Re: GHY168C camera no image shows

Hello again Robin. I need to put my mount back together, after some important maintenance. I may be able to check tonight, but will need to install another capture app. I need something simple, not a full observatory control app. I am not a big Windows user, so can you recommend a simple Windows cap...

GHY168C camera no image shows

Hello. I have the subject camera that is recognized by Sharpcap Pro, but no image shows up. I installed the latest "all-in-one" QHY drivers package for SC Pro. My camera works properly on my MAC capture apps. This issue was posted by others about two years ago, but I haven't seen any repli...

Re: Settings for DSO imaging intervalometer

Brian and Dave, thanks for your replies. Unfortunately the two methods you show are quite different and still don't simplify what steps I need to set up. For example, when imaging DSOs I might use 2 to 3 minute subs (exposures), up to 30 each, with 5 second pauses (lags) in between the subs. So, Bri...

Settings for DSO imaging intervalometer

Hello and thanks to the developers for a super program. Forgive me if this has been answered before, but I couldn't find it posted. I am getting great planetary videos, but need help with multiple long exposures for DSO imaging. To use this program as an intervalometer, what settings for capture sho...

Sharpcap for OS X

Hello to all. I enjoy using this app on my Windows laptop and thank you for such a super program. I'm sure this has been asked many times, but will there be a version of Sharpcap for use with my IMac (OS X)? Since I will be using SkySafari on the iMac for GOTOs etc. it would be great if I could also...

Re: New to Sharpcap and it's polar alignment

An update to all on the PA routine.
I checked the results, and the very small amount of DEC drift will be easily guided out.
I also re-did the PA routine, and the results are repeatable.
Now on to PEC training, and I can then do some DSO imaging.
Thanks to all for your help.
