Re: Can I have multiple profiles for my hardware.

If I go into the hardware menu and change from one focuser to another will I have to disconnect from the camera or restart Sharpcap? I usually just use the program from Moonlite so I've never tried switching hardware at the beginning of the night.

Adjust settings for better performance

This has got me several times in the past. I usually remember to adjust the settings after a few minutes of scratching my head. If you notice in the photo I have the exposure set for two seconds. Look in the bottom right and you will note the time by the green bar says 10 seconds. This was because i...

Can I have multiple profiles for my hardware.

I have two different APOs I image with but I use the same camera. One of my scopes has a Moonlite autofocuser and the other has a ZWO autofocuser. I know I can set different profiles for settings, but can I do this for hardware too? When I select my camera SC looks for the ZWO focuser only because t...

Re: Dithering

Live stacking saves the same files as the normal capture mode. There isn't a draw back to doing it.

If you don't care about live stacking hide the stacking window and pretend it isn't there......then it's the same as normal capture.....but with dither function.

Bahtinov Mask tool

Not really a "how do I"....more of a can I do it better. I use the display histo stretch to dial in the bahtinov mask first.....I love this feature. I can focus with narrow band filters with around a second or less exposures.....before I realized the display stretch was there I had to expose 8 to 15...

Can Sharpcap dither using "start capture" and not live stacking

I've got the live stacking dither down and it works great. Sometimes I use the normal "start capture" and not live stacking if i'm not around my setup for an hour or two. Can I dither using the normal "start capture"? Can you only dither in live stacking mode?

Re: Can I save ignored frames in Live Stack

Update..... I lowered the maximum star value to 12 and raised the minimum star value to 2. This puts a tighter limits on the stars it will accept. I only had to do this on really long exposures because the stars get blown out badly. This lowered the amount of stars it was finding and it seemed to st...

Re: Can I save ignored frames in Live Stack

I realized last night that it was dropping frames on my longer exposures. It never dropped a frame on my 10sec or 30 sec. Maybe my stars are blown out or too many stars like you said. I'll try to lower some settings and see what happens. My original problem of dropping frames after adjusting setting...

Re: Can I save ignored frames in Live Stack

I think Wikkett's method worked. I had no dropped frames after a settings change. After a while of shooting I did start dropping frames. I dropped 3 or 4 in a row. Not sure why.....the sky was clear and I didn't touch anything. It had been stacking perfectly for over an hour. I cleared the stack and...

Re: Can I save ignored frames in Live Stack

Wikkett.....I think you are correct. I did notice it seemed to start stacking on the 3rd image and only after I adjust a setting. I never dropped a frame in the other 4 hours of shooting. I plan to shoot again tonight or tomorrow....I will test your method out and report back.
