Re: New Feature : Planetary Live Stacking
Hi Robin, Just in case you're referring to the two crash reports that I sent on 18/1/24 during multi point planetary stacking, they both happened when I was trying to run two instances of SharpCap, both doing multi point stacking of the Moon. I didn't have any crashes when running just one instance....

Re: New Feature : Planetary Live Stacking
Hi Robin, Another thing I've just noticed from last night ... The filenames of snapshots and time lapse videos are missing some information. I use the following filename templates: Single File (Video): {TargetName}\Captures\{TargetName} {Filter} {Exposure} x{Gain} D{Date} T{Time} Sequence (Stills): ...

Re: New Feature : Planetary Live Stacking
Hi Robin, Just using this latest version, I'm unable to save a PNG snapshot of the live planetary stack while also capturing frames to a SER file. I haven't done this before so it may not be a new bug, or indeed it may be as intended, but I'm thinking that capturing the frames for a subsequent re-ru...

Re: New Feature : Planetary Live Stacking
I've just tried the brand new surface alignment feature on some old captures of partial Moon discs. Wow, I'm very impressed. You've really excelled yourself this time Robin.

Re: New Feature : Planetary Live Stacking
I finally managed to use the new Live Planetary Stacking feature last night. It’s amazing, a complete game changer for planetary EAA making it possible to do for the first time really. Usually I just give the Planets a cursory look when I do EAA but last night I spent an hour observing Jupiter, comi...

Re: New Feature : Planetary Live Stacking
Hi Robin, Just thinking about the use of planetary stacking vs DSO stacking, it might be good to have a histogram tab within the Planetary Stacking control, just as there is one within the Live Stacking (DSO) control. Doing this would allow the histogram to be bigger and would make it easier to move...

Re: New Feature : Planetary Live Stacking
I use SharpCap for EAA and not AP, so I'm interested in a quick and easy way to see a fairly good image of a planet, rather than masses of image control. With this in mind, I'm finding I'm using just the Fine convolution sharpening set to maximum (1.0), with the Saturation set to 1.4. These settings...

Re: New Feature : Planetary Live Stacking
I'm still testing these releases with a recorded SER of Mars as I haven't had the opportunity yet to try it live, but even so, each set of changes is improving the performance for me. I particularly like the Fine convolution sharpening slider which seems to do a great job all on its own. I find I'm ...

Re: New Feature : Planetary Live Stacking
I've also looked at Peter's error logs - the camera is disconnecting from USB repeatedly and then reconnecting again very soon after. SharpCap has code that will try to handle this sort of problem without interrupting your imaging, but in this ca...

Re: New Feature : Planetary Live Stacking
Hello, folks, I'm able to planetary stack when capturing SER files in RAW8 format, but not when I'm capturing using RAW16. Is this expected behavior?
The planetary stacking feature currently only operates in 8-bit mode. Robin is ...
