Re: QHY174mGPS wrong exposure interval.
Robin, to answer your question, yes. I have used USB TreeView and on at least one occasion have observed a bad USB3 cable show up as USB 2 connection. I highly recommend USB TreeView (freeware) to diagnose any and all USB connectivity issues. Yes I realize I failed to follow my own advice at first w...

Re: How do I get a target after achieveing Polar Alignment
(This is what I call the Home position - Very nearly Polar Aligned but not quite there...) Home position in astro speak has nothing to do with polar alignment... When we say home position this is when we hit the home command and then the scope/mount moves the predetermined "home" position....

Repair - Uninstall When Updating this Week
Was it just me - but when I clicked on SharpCapInstall-4.1.11961.0 instead of updating my installation I got a Repair or Unistall dialog box - instead of the usual Install.
Repair requires a restart...
So was it just me. I selected repair as I did not want to lose any settings profiles etc.

Re: Auto focus settings
Robin, there were a couple of things I was doing wrong, which all stemmed from the fact that I had no idea what the science behind the curve was doing (how could that curve find perfect focus without actually going there at least once) if the curve is not understood clearly then assumptions made wil...

Re: Auto focus settings
I have needlessly struggled with SC Auto Focus for a long time and then Borodog hinted, well more than hinted, there are two things (I add one more) you can do to make it so much easier for yourself: Set up exposure for speed of the AF run, and gain for the number of stars selected in Multi-Star Aut...

Re: Setting up Sharpcap with Stellarium
FYI: CPWI is a combo program and driver. To utilize CPWI the program must be up and running and left running in the background. Once it is up and running your mount can be controlled simultaneously by any planetarium program (Starry Night, Stellarium, Sky Charts (Cartes du Ciel)) and SharpCap and gu...

Re: Setting up Sharpcap with Stellarium
Hello All Just walking around looking for information about how to interact Sharcap 4.1 with a Planetarium Software, I found this interesting search result. I read here: "the way this would work is that you set up both SharpCap and Stellarium to talk to CPWI - they share access to the mount ha...
