Sharpcap and a .tif file
I'm a two week EAA novice. On my first night out with a camera managed to get a really nice image and I inadvertently just clicked SAVE and not Save as it appears. After some confusing attempts to do something with the Fits File I have ended up with a .tif file. I downloaded Fits Liberator but its o...

Re: Is a Plate Solve required ?
mfratto : Thanks for the additional details. I wasnt expecting it to work when I clicked on Live Stack with that Ancient Camera. Its not sensitive enough to see stars. I have Starsence and a routine that gives VERY accurate GoTos so i really just wondered if Plate Solving was required or optional. E...

Re: Is a Plate Solve required ?
Thank You Both ! admin: Sorry if my post was mis-understood - I tend to give too many details and I confuse issues. I was not expecting function with the Ancient Neximage but just clicked the live stack button to " see what happened ". Sharpcap wont function at all until a camera is recogn...

I realize its not even close to usable but I did make it found by Sharpcap and took a couple single exposures of the moon....

Re: Exposure Time Range
Thank You. The program accepted my entry. We'll see if the camera can. Overcast as usual tonight but upcoming forecast looks better. Its been a longer than usual run of clouds and rain even for Oregon. I've been just experimenting with an older Neximage camera I was gifted with and the 3.1 Sharpcap ...

Re: Can I change the size of the displayed image ?
Bingo - It was set on Auto. It appears that Old Camera just gives a Tiny Image. I misunderstood the way the Scale and Zoom was set up . Knowing that - I'm guessing the potential image will be very poor considering the size of the default image - the age of the technology - then compounded by 300 % z...
