Re: Debayer and were my frames actually stacked?
Hi Robin, I am still at Ver 4.0, but will update soon. --- Is there any sequence editor steps to turn off Debayer? I ask because I want to live stack (20x30s) non-debayered subs from my color camera and save it. So far I have been just turning off Debayer preview before starting my sequence. Roger ...

Re: Sharpcap locks up when connect ASI2600MC Pro
Hi Robin, You were spot on. I was having trouble with Ioptron Commander mount connection, but was focusing on solving SharpCap first. When I looked at the SharpCap log I could not see that it was in the middle of connecting to the mount. So after searching about my Ioptron connection problem I read ...

Sharpcap locks up when connect ASI2600MC Pro
Hi Robin, I first searched the forum but could not find an answer to my connect camera problem. I have been using successfully Sharpcap 4.0.9431.0-64bit the last few months, including last night. Today I restarted my system, connect everything as usual, start SharpCap. It starts okay, but when I sel...

Re: Frame differences: Quick Capture, Snapshot, Live Stack, etc.
Hi Robin, Your reply was spot on, and helped me differentiate the available capture choices. Yes, I needed to re-read the linked User Manual. We all should do that as a refresher. For a single frame captured by the different modes below, and with same settings, will the images be identical, or some ...

Frame differences: Quick Capture, Snapshot, Live Stack, etc.
Hi Robin, SharpCap is very flexible and offers many ways to capture. I know the different methods are for different reasons, but I am trying to understand some differences. I mainly ask because live stacking shows the histogram window, but other methods do not. I remember you told me that a reset hi...

V4.0.9478 Dec 2022 Update
Hi Robin, It was painful but needed (for me). Thanks for making all the red warnings in the Filenames Tab of SharpCap Settings. This forced me to learn the syntax for the Filenames Template and fix my file path for saving. And to finally get the time and date put in the filename. No more overwriting...

Display stretch vs Histogram in Sequencer and Filenames questions
Hi Robin, I want to confirm a couple of Sequencer Commands: 1. Is this correct?: The Reset display stretch command, only affects the appearance, ie brightness of the displayed image. Does that mean the saved file, ie livestack, is unaffected no matter the actual display stretch settings? 2. Is this ...

Re: Background levels, raw image vs stack
Hi Robin, I can see the background subtraction is turned off... Any other reason the processing would reduce the background level? Thanks, Roger +++++++++++++++++ [ZWO ASI2600MC Pro] FrameType=Light Debayer Preview=Off Pan=0 Tilt=0 Output Format=FITS files (*.fits) Binning=1 Capture Area=6248x4176 C...

Background levels, raw image vs stack
Hi Robin, I like how the background level drops dramatically when SharpCap stacks raw images. In my light polluted location my typical background is .12 for the darkest night. As SharpCap captures and stacks 20 raw images, the background level drops to roughly .012. Sharpcap is not doing any process...
