plate solving issue
Hi ... i've been having no problems with plate solving until I changed mounts. I've switched over to an AVX mount, connect through cpwi, do my PA and then get cpwi to go to a star. Once there it's not in view so I plate solve in Sharpcap and it finds it ok and slews to the right location and centres...

Re: plate solving issue
Thanks Robin ... will just have to adjust things as needed. Could you tell me why it doesn't work when I set my telescope focal length. I would have thought that would helped more.

Re: plate solving issue
Morning Robin,
It is Astrotortilla that I'm using and haven't had this trouble before with the ed80 so I'm assuming I have the right data fields downloaded for it. Any ideas.

Thanks for getting back to me Robin. Bed time here so will check in the morning to see which it is. I thought with having such good polar alignment it would manage quite well. Will post tomorrow. Thanks

plate solving issue
Not sure if i'm in the right place to ask this but here goes. I have an HEQ5 Pro mount and z61ii and ed80. With the z61ii I do my polar alignment and can get it to .02 and .04. When I slew to a target in Stellarium and plate solve it is normally within 2(can't remember the rest. Age thing). Tonight ...

Re: Dither only (no guiding) using ASCOM mount pulse guiding
Thank you Robin .... have the latest version so that's ok. I'll try to extend the settle time and see how we go. A lot to take in for a 70 year old just starting...lol. Must work out how to use PHD2 as that must help a lot but that's more to get my head around
