Re: Plate Solve and Resync
Hi Robin, I went back through all the suggestions you gave me and continued to struggle, but it finally hit me. Since I loaded all this years ago on my old computer I forgot on additional thing besides ASCOM. I did not have the specific CPWI Driver from Celestron loaded. Drove me nuts to finally fig...

Re: Plate Solve and Resync
Just an update. I have now reloaded ASTAP program plus the star data base. I have tested the Plate Solver program and it works so I have a good Plate Solver Program and a star data base but the Plate Solve and Resync button still does not go dark to allow for use. I know I am missing something very ...

Plate Solve and Resync
Purchased a new computer and installed the SharpCap software. My old computer still also has the SharpCap software. I updated all the Pro License info on the new computer and it indicates that it is Pro at the top. I start up my Mount and then SharpCap as normal but the Plate Solve and Resync always...

Re: Plate Solving Issues
Hello Robin, It looks like the version of CPWI I am using is 2.3.5? I am going to try one other thing and see what happens. After getting my Polar alignment completed and returning my mount to home I am going to use CPWI to complete a one star alignment to make sure I am within the 15 degrees. In th...

Re: Plate Solving Issues
Thanks Robin, Not sure how I could be over 15 degrees off. I use Sharp Cap to Polar Align and it always works like a dream. So last night I Polar aligned to an Excellent position and had CWPI move the scope to Vega. Once again the Plate solve always works within 15 seconds but the plate solve and sy...

Plate Solving Issues
Good Evening, I have a Celestron 9.25 SCT mounted on their GCEM II. I currently use ASTAP for Plate Solving. I use Sharp Cap to drive cameras and drive the Mount with the Celestron CPWI where my computer is linked through the Celestron hand controller. Everytime I think I have Plate Solving figured ...

Re: Plate Solving Issues
Robin and Chris, Thanks for all the help. I looked at what Chris was doing and it sounded reasonable. I lowered my gain down to 100-200 and increased the exposure time to 15 minutes and I now solve. I also went back to Raw 8 instead of Raw 16. Could have been a combination of both but I think gettin...

Plate Solving Issues
Good Day. I use a Celestron 9.25 SCT with a .63 reducer and an Altair 26C TEC camera. My problem is never knowing if my plate solving will work on a given night. Last night after polar alignment, I always plate solve on a bright star to fine tune focus. The first plate solve worked and fine tuning o...

Re: Plate Solving with ASTAP
Robin, I accidently found a way that I can now plate solve every time. Not sure why it works but it does. Literally I set the exposure to a low number like 2-3 seconds and a very low gain. Then I go and do the auto stretch and leave it. With the stretch, I can see how many stars are actually recogni...

Plate Solving with ASTAP
Good Evening. Clear skies but my Plate Solving is driving me nuts. I use the Polar Allign and get an excellent polar alignment ( Also took extra care that my mount was level.) and then return the mount to Home position. What happens next has happened twice. I use CPWI to drive my mount to a target r...
