Dark frames location change
Hi, I use dark frames when batch processing multiple evening flats and filter flats. As the capture of darks is usually only done occasionally would it be possible to write the frames (when you select "Keep individual image frames" of the Capture Darks window) to a sub-directory of the dar...

Mulitspectral stacking
Hi, I am moving from a dual band filter to individual band filters that I want to use on targets with mixed Ha/Oiii/... components. As the different filters require differing exposure times I would like to understand what the process is in SharpCap to do a single nights Live Stack using different fi...

Re: Darks affecting stacking
One other thing is the histogram brain recommendation for exposure, gain, offset - it recommended 10 as the Brightness offset. Is that a more accurate assessment than eyeballing the histogram peak movement from the left side?
Thanks,
Ken

Re: Darks affecting stacking
Thanks Robin, Exp, Gain and Offset are the same for the Darks and Lights but I double checked the brightness/offset on the histogram and it may be the cause. I usually have a brightness of 15 but it was at 5 and that didn't bring the peak of the histogram away from the left hand side. I went back an...

Darks affecting stacking
Hi, I have built a library of darks for my ASI colour camera but I found using them has a huge affect on the histogram graph in live stacking. Using the same Gain, Exposure, Brightness the histogram graph of the colour bands will appear 30% along the X axis but with the dark enabled the graph will c...

Re: Image framing option
Thanks Robin,
Note the "stock" images approach for framing is not my choice - using the real ones per Step 1 is. (helps with phases of moon also).
Looking forward to hear any other perspectives.
Cheers,
Ken

Image framing option
Hi Robin, I have a Pegasus Falcon V2 on my refractor now and would like to be able to easily handle framing of targets - whether DSO or the Solar System. I looked at another platform and they place a rectangle based on your camera resolution, aperture and focal length against a library image of the ...

Re: SC and Focuser calibration anomaly
Thanks Robin,
I got a reply from Optec that they have an option to change the position readout from steps, to mm to microns which I didn't know. I must have moused over the position field and it changed the readout to something other than steps.

Re: SC and Focuser calibration anomaly
Update on the second repeatability step.
1. Do step 1 above
2. Tell Focuslynx to go to 48590
3. Start SC, connect to camera and check focuser position in SC and it is 45417 (not 51890).
Thanks,
Ken
