Re: Live View framing, possibly ROI related.
As final comment on this matter. I think that the black region caused a problem when capturing flats. There was a warning that there were too many pixels below 10% even though the Histogram looked good. Possibly, the large black region was being included in the exposure evaluation. It may be useful ...

Re: Live View framing, possibly ROI related.
Thanks Robin. That's good to know. I checked the pre-processing options this morning and Planet/Disc Stabilisation was on. I must have done it accidentally whilst turning other options on/off. I think that because I was looking for something to do Feature Tracking I missed the fact that Planet/Disc ...

Re: Live View framing, possibly ROI related.
Thanks Robin, I did look at the pre-processing options because I have been using them to apply darks and flats during Live Stacking. I have never turned planet stabilisation on intentionally but may have done so accidentally. I will check next time. There is definitely some sort of active re-framing...

Live View framing, possibly ROI related.
I have noticed (only very recently) that the displayed image frame seems to move around within a "fixed/full" frame, In that attached image, what I refer as the "fixed" frame includes both the black region (to the left) and the blue region (the actual image). It appears the some ...

Re: File Name Templates
I figured it out. There were errors in file templates other than the one than the one that I was editing. Reading back through this thread, it seems that the validation rules have been tightened in recent Sharpcap versions and the errors were from valid templates in earlier versions.

Re: File Name Templates
I am having a slightly different problem with the Live Stack file template. The file name is (by default I think) frame_{Index} . It seems that the Index resets whenever the live stack Clear button is clicked, resulting in a file duplication error when a new live stack is commenced. If I attempt to ...

Re: Stored Focuser Positions
Another possible UI design. There could be a small additional icon button on the Focuser area of the Scope Controls (in the Camera Control Panel). This could bring up a child window with a data grid listing named focuser positions, including a new data row for adding a new one. The could be three bu...

Re: Stored Focuser Positions
Re post #2. Thanks Robin, Yes, I regularly enter a new target position and use a spreadsheet to track the numbers but this feature would make for a nicer workflow. Maybe the user could create/edit a table of named positions in Hardware Settings/Focuser. In the focuser control panel, there could be S...

Stored Focuser Positions
It would be useful if a number of named focuser positions could be stored and recalled. For SCT users especially, there are a number of focuser positions for various optical configurations associated with reducer, Barlow (Powermate) and HyperStar optical elements, Named focuser locations for each wo...
