I have loaded both 32- adn 64- bit and the 32-bit works with the Starshoot, so I am assuming that the issue is that my particular camera does not handle 64-bits.

I think the issue was my HD was full. I have a C and D and the Sharpcap folder was created on C by default. I moved everything to D drive and tonight it seemed ok.

Maybe some kind of error message if disk full?

Right now, my solution is to shut down and reboot the computer. Apparently this resets the COM ports and lets SharpCap find the current one. I'll keep searching for a better solution.
