Dithering settings
I've been having some issues with some of my images and the folks at Startools told me it was a classic case of not dithering. So, I just upgraded to SharpCap Pro. I hooked everything up in the house and it seems to be communicating with PHD2 so that is good. I understand that an image will not be t...

Re: Output Format
I'm unclicking the Auto and selecting FITS then saving the profile (or creating new ones). I then shut down the program, restart, load the profile, and the Auto is rechecked under the camera settings. I have to manual fix this each time but all the other settings (exposure, gain, etc) remain as desi...

Output Format
I'm using SharpCap 3.0 and have saved my settings as needed. The only item that will not save is the output format. This always defaults to PNG. I have found the FITS works best with my camera (ASI1600mc-cool). I usually remember to change the settings for a run but forgot last night and ruined my r...

Re: Mono images with ASI1600MC-cool
Is there any benefit of using PNG versus FITS files? I certainly don't have a problem using PNG files if there isn't much of a difference.

Re: Mono images with ASI1600MC-cool
Ok. I'll try running the RAW 16 next time.
I did try to debayer my RAW 8 in PIPP but without success.
Ahh....learning curves!!
Thanks for the help.

Re: Mono images with ASI1600MC-cool
Thanks. I tried the settings and still getting mono. Here are my original capture settings for the test run if it helps. I thought I had used RAW 16 fits but looks like it was 8 instead. [ZWO ASI1600MC-Cool] Debayer Preview=On Pan=0 Tilt=0 Output Format=Fits files (*.fits) Binning=1 Capture Area=465...

Mono images with ASI1600MC-cool
First post on here. I like the SharpCap software...very easy to understand. However, I did my first run with my ASI1600MC-cool (and first with SharpCap as well) last week and the final stacked image in Deep Sky Stacker was monochrome. After checking on a few other forums and changing the DSS setting...
