Delayed Capture
Dr. Glover, would it be possible to add a Capture Delay to the Start Capture menu? I use an ASI178MC with a fisheye lens as an All Sky camera. A couple of nights ago, we had a spectacular auroral display, and I’d appreciate the ability to setup the camera for an 8 hour capture (I generally grab a fr...

Re: Planetary Stacking and Sharpening
Upon further thought, and understanding user’s RAM capabilities, being able to limit the number of frames saved could be accomplished by tying in the existing frame capture rate menu. A user with a high RAM computer could potentially use the maximum frame rate, while the user with only 8GB might onl...

Planetary Stacking and Sharpening
This is admittedly, a long shot… Would it be possible to implement, using the Live Stack feature, a planetary option. I believe that the tools to do so, are already available in the software. My “vision” would be to combine the Planet/Disc Stabilization (SharpCap can obviously recognize planets) wit...

Tested the changes to annotation font for inverted images. Absolutely superb.
Thank you.
Trent.

Re: New Feature : Deep Sky Image Annotation
Robin, is it possible to give a few color options in the annotation?
I regularly use the inverted view, and the yellow print washes out against the white background. The ability to change the font color to a deep red would be especially handy.

Re: LiveStack color balancing v.10299
Had the same happen to me last night.
Fortunately, i still have 4.0 loaded on my laptop, so I switched to that.
Upon investigation, I noticed that the “Image Control” box is missing from the Camera Control Panel, where I would normally control the color balance on the mini histogram.

Re: autostretch histogram
I rarely autostretch.
For EAA purposes, I let the stack build for a couple of minutes, then begin the process myself. It takes barely seconds, and I know what I’m trying to see, so moving the levels around, isn’t an issue.

Re: RGB Align in Live Stack
I picked 2 random (consecutive) frames of a recent capture of the Lagoon nebula.
The second screenshot is after an RGB alignment. Originally, SharpCap picked up more stars but after I cycled it a couple of times, it levelled out, but the FWHM is tighter afterwards.

Re: RGB Align in Live Stack
As I get closer to the horizon, my FWHM climbs from an average of ~5.0 at over 60° to over 10.5 at 20°, and it fluctuates wildly; occasionally over 12, then below 10.
I’m curious if the dispersion is causing that as well…?
