Re: First Time Solar Imaging.....

Update....... I managed a short period imaging the other day and was over the moon to actually see something resembling the sun on my Laptop! (I didn't manage to capture any images, but almost there..... ;) ) I need to work on my Focus and Fine Tuning, but am so pleased that after 5 years trying to ...

Re: Horsehead Nebula and Lunt LS60 THa

Hello, If the Ha etalon stays in place then you will have the following ... here 3 images (with my Lunt 50 mm filter) and a spectrometer: - Sun spectrum (centred to the Ha line) - Sun spectrum after placing the Lunt 50 etalon in front of the spectrometer (without blocking filter, the image a little...

Horsehead Nebula and Lunt LS60 THa

Hi Everyone

Is it possible to image the Horsehead Nebula using a Lunt LS60 THa (With a ZWO 294MC Pro) if the Blocking Diagonal is removed?

Just a thought......

Thanks

Thank You

Re: First Time Solar Imaging.....

I had initial problems (also using Lunt LS60) just finding the sun, until a helpful mate told me about using the shadows cast on the front of the (black) collar on the scope. I stuck on four small pieces of paper at angles around the collar so the shadows could be seen easily. Get the scope near, u...

First Time Solar Imaging.....

Hi Everyone, might seem a silly question to you guys, but how do I go about Solar Imaging? I get the Theory of Nightime Imaging (And whilst not managed to get any images yet (Due mainly to Clouds and my incompetence!) I have achieved several Near perfect polar alignments using Sharpcaps feature! (No...

Re: Sharpcap Not Noving Mount although looks connected.

Hi, good to hear that it wasn't an issue in SharpCap - the slow movement rates (up to 32x or so) are pretty slow, so can be hard to spot when just watching the mount. If you are having problems with GOTO movements going to the wrong place after polar alignment then you should consider using the han...

Re: How do I get a target after achieveing Polar Alignment

Hi, a lot depends on how you use your equipment apart from using it with GSS... If you only use the equipment with GSS then GSS should remember the position of the mount when it was last used, and providing when you start the next time it is still physically in the same position, GSS should pick up...
