Re: "An error has occurred while writing RAW frames"

The "fix" wasn't a fix after all. Out again last night figuring to do some simple imaging. At around 20:45 I tried imaging M101. But SharpCap kept giving me the same error message I’d experienced last time I’d attempted using it. error message.jpg I’m using a simple description per my last...

Re: "An error has occurred while writing RAW frames"

Thank you very much for the quick response Menno. Leaving the setup as shown I just ran Live Stack with the lens cap on, using the target names TEST and LONGER TEST. Files saved fine. I believe that, as you suggested, I was using an invalid target name. (Which I guess is the same as my file name.)

I've been off doing spectroscopy for a bit and perhaps my settings are erroneous. It's a 1 terabyte solid state drive and it's only half full.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Image File location moved without obvious input

Problem no longer a problem. No idea what happened here, but in setting up for observing on Wednesday night the SAVE CAPTURED FILES TO worked without a hitch and allowed me to target my designated C:\0 SharpCap Images file. Didn’t change anything. Version 4.0.8949.0 - 5/9/2022 I’d previously tried r...

Image File location moved without obvious input

Discovered that SharpCap hasn’t been sending data to the original C:\0 SharpCap Images folder I'd set up 2 years ago and have been using for some time. Long ago I’d set the file save location to be C:\0 SharpCap Images and that had been working fine until I don’t know when. At some point my capture ...

Re: How to stop/reset Live Stack?

Maybe a better question is "How do I shut off live stack so that I can change settings and start over again?"

Re: How to stop/reset Live Stack?

Hi Robin, The log file shown below if for my final run and I think it only applies to the last Live Stack run and not to the problem that happened causing me to shut down the camera and turn it back on to make this run. The file log for the previous tries that were interrupted didn't save. [ZWO ASI2...

How to stop/reset Live Stack?

Rather than lose a frame or two, once I'm close to setting up an image I'll start Live Stack in hopes that I've got the exposure and other variables optimized for the targeted DSO. And if the first frame or two indicate the need for adjustment I close Live Stack by using the X box at the top of the ...

HI Robin, Thanks for adding the background subtraction alert when running darks. It caught my error before running darks this morning. You've been awarded 1 ATTABOY, As the day heated up the ASI2600MC-P was unable to cool to -5°C. Eventually I double checked operating temperature and found -2C plus ...

Re: An interface color scheme to not lose dark adaptation

In addition to SC's dark mode most laptops have a readily accessible screen brightness control. And even in dark mode I find myself dropping screen brightness from 70% to 6%, if only to reduce light levels around the dome shutter opening.
