ok thanks robin. If we ever get a clear night i'll get the latest beta and log it. It occurred to me today to just activate the polar alignment tool in my basement but no joy - it just reported no solve but kept clocking frames fine.

I got lucky last night and got a clear hour outside. Sharpcap performed perfectly. The only change was the new version so i guess that did something. i'm using sharpcap pro with a QHY5L-II-M to align my mount. I have the exposure set for 2 seconds but it seems much slower. it's not complaining about lost or dropped frames but I think i saw the frame rate showing .1 frames per second. what could i be doing wrong?
