Re: SharpCap 4.1 (including updated documentation) is now available!
Bravo Robin, I’ve been lecturing the robot makers about how to automate planetary and lunar capture for over a year and so it pleased me so much that you put the time in to actualy do it. I purchased a lifetime license tonight for appreciation, I’ve only had a chance to go through it on the sample J...

Re: Sharpcap Pro 4 files saves wrong
Interesting, I didn’t realize it was saving as 8bit, I have been using the “save as seen” image to do further post processing, is there a work around to save it as 16bit?

Re: Can you change darks during live stacking?
Thanks, too bad you can’t just do it during a pause but I understand, I’ll try what you said, someone else suggested I just cover the scope at the end of the capture and I guess they meant I would edit the ser and stack that portion to make a dark to subtract, however I don’t know how infective that...

Can you change darks during live stacking?
It’s going to be a few days before I get to try so thought I would ask, I got some pretty bad walking noise on a helix shot last night and so am devising a plan to combat since I have a Az mount not capable of guiding or dithering. So was wondering if I were to pause live stacking, can I simply take...

Re: Brain not finishing
Thanks, mine is Qhy however next time this happens I’ll pause and send log file, I know it’s hard to trouble shoot with out it, just thought I would ask in case it was something simple y’all had seen before. Sometimes I’ll get recommendations almost instantly, other times it will just progress with ...

Brain not finishing
What would be the most likely cause of the brain hanging up, I’ve experienced this over several different sessions now but not consistent…. I’ll leave everything at default, click on measure, the routine starts and it will go through different exposures but then it will try to do one around 49 secon...

Re: Anyone having issues with missing sers or folders?
No confirmation but it looks like maybe ipados15 may be the culprit, I didn’t think about downloading that update the other day, so when I plug my ssd in to it to transfer files it might be doing something

Anyone having issues with missing sers or folders?
Just dining my due diligence troubleshooting a ssd issue, I’ll capture some sers, sharpcap will create a dated folder, the sers will be there, I may process one or two, I’ll go back later and poof, they are gone, perhaps external ssd is going bad but computer says it’s fine, other folders and files ...

Re: Maximum individual frame exposure in a SER
Definitely good enough to try again with better focusing and perhaps longer overall exposure time, thinking a good goal would be 45 minutes and then throwing out a third after the program sorts them from best to worse, you can’t really use wavlets on then the way you do with planets, your just not g...

Re: Maximum individual frame exposure in a SER
Hey Robin, just thought you might like to see the results from the ser experiment, it shows some promise to just add some planetary nebula to the mix while out imaging Jupiter and Saturn, basically works just the same with stacking and the program giving you best to worse exposures etc, my program e...
