Re: Sharpcap May be incompatible with optane
Btw, apparently it’s not something anyone will need to worry about going forward, Intel is axing optane, last consumer Intel drives end in February

Sharpcap May be incompatible with optane
Hi Robin, just a heads up, was doing lunar imaging tonight and I think I ran in to the issue people complain about optane, after each shot completed I was faced with about 500 frames in the buffer that I was waiting for the write... it went pretty quick but consistently paused with 5 frames left, it...

Re: 64 bit vs 32 bit
Robin, downloaded 64bit and played with it inside... seems to work great and my concern with the histogram in the other thread appears to be fine now, im still mainly using your program for planetary because the combo of qhy462c and 180mm mak makes detecting stars almost undoable for live stacking, ...

Re: 64 bit vs 32 bit
Just to be clear, how much memory does 64bit have access to by default? I may try it since I just bought a new computer, if something is off I can always revert back to 32bit I have a tigerlake with 16gig ram, I did notice it was still writing a good many frames after capture completed last night

Re: Has histogram changed since last version?
Also should note, I am getting over 130fps at native 1080p... in my past experience I should not be getting close to that on dimmer planets unless a faster computer makes that much difference ... confused

Has histogram changed since last version?
Just thought I would check... I have same camera 462c and sharpcap pro, I purchased a new laptop and redownload sharpcap and qhy drivers and went out to photograph Mars.... my issue is my histogram is very flat, dives straight down on left and tracks along bottom.... I am use to adjusting my levels ...

Re: Focus question/suggestion
Yes Donstim, there are many methods that get you close, I went out last night and did various methods back to back but unfortunately it ends up being lucky focusing, the three images looked mostly the same but some tiny details emerged in one that was not in the others.... and these details probably...

Re: help mars
Be careful not to zero out your gain though, it causes an onion style artifact with some camera so a healthy mix of low gain and exposures is best

Re: Focus question/suggestion
Just wanted to share that I did here back from the author of firecapture too, he also stated that the wavlet idea is something he has bounced around over the last few years but never got on the priority list.I do hope that when you get around to writing the preview stacking code you will make a stab...
