Re: INDI support
Hi Vince, at the time that I wrote the documentation, it didn't quite work, since there was a bug in the Indigo implementation of the Alpaca agent that made it incompatible with the ASCOM libraries in SharpCap - nothing got detected unfortunately. This bug was fixed in Indigo in October (https://gi...

Re: INDI support
Hi All Just installed 4.1 and noted that some support for INDI is now built in. I looked in the manual but could not quite make sense of what to do to let eg cameras appear in sharpcap. there are pointers but no proper instructions. I have installed the INDI Control panel and have added the port to ...

Re: INDI support
Hi not sure if it has been mentioned and is probably not what you want but is an okay workaround. I use kstars/ekos on a pi4 and live stack with sharpcap via folder monitoring. wireless n/5ghz is plenty fast for live video and the $12 usb3 thumbdrive that runs the pi4 is keeps up @ 400mb/s. That is ...

What are these bandings in my test image
Hi all, While learning and testing platesolving/livestacking /tracking I got these strange bandings in one of my imaging sessions. I wasn't really after image quality so was imaging through glass window but I have not seen these patterns before in other imaging sessions taken from the same position....

What are these dark patches in my test image
M2 ST80ZWO224MCsmall.png Hi all, What could these dark round patches be?. Was just learning live stacking /plate solving etc in sharpcap so no flats or darks. shot through bortle8 and hazy clouds. Any suggestions of steps to try and get rid of them in future images would be much appreciated. 2 mont...

Image Quality- Small vs large aperture
Dear all, In terms of image quality, does aperture matter other than in capturing the image in a shorter time? Am trying to stick to a budget but try and extract the best images for the price. I am looking at ASKAR FMA 180 £350 or StarTravel 102 OTA £210. The FMA seems worth the money given it is an...

How About - Startup Scripting
Hi All How about giving access to "sequencer scripting blocks" to startup script in SC4 in addition to the .py coding. It would be nice to drag a program startup block in startup script and just point to the program path rather than code and save to ,py'. Just a suggestion Kind regards Vince
