Re: First go at planetary
Thank you all kindly for the feedback and useful information. :) I had another go at capturing Saturn the other night with all the above in mind and got what I think is a better result, though the image quality is still seeing limited and the fact that I’m still a novice at planetary acquisition and...

Re: First go at planetary
Thanks guys! Would love me a C14 and suitable mount, I'm sure it will comfort me loads when the missus kicks me out and I'm sleeping in the garage with it! Thanks for the link Dave, will give it a thorough read. Good to know rotational periods and suitable capture duration limitations. I most defini...

Re: Can a script pickup the polar alignment data?
Hey Robin, Thank you for your reply! I'm attempting to build an automatic polar alignment kit for my mount using 4 servo motors. The idea is to use the data from the polar alignment tool in sharpcap to automatically drive the servos which will align my mount for me. I have been dreaming of a motori...

Re: Saving Idividual Frames
Cheers Robin, I for one would greatly welcome a "save only stacked frames" options, as I find the FWHM and brightness filters a powerful utility, the former of which I tend to tweak and fine-tune during live stacking and the latter left on auto to reject cloudy frames. This filtering advan...

Re: Saving Idividual Frames
As a parenthesis, there seems to be a discrepancy in the documentation here: http://docs.sharpcap.co.uk/3.2/16_LiveStacking.htm And here: https://docs.sharpcap.co.uk/3.2/#The%20Live%20Stacking%20User%20Interface "Save Individual Frames – when enabled save each frame as a separate file (FITS/PNG...
