Re: Brain tool

Hi Robin, and thanks for your reply. To be honest... as long as I learn about how the parameters influence the picture, I don’t know when I’m supposed to be satisfied with an image. ;) If read noise is a less important parameter, I will now a) go on a good dynamic range and the tracking limits of my...

Re: Brain tool

Well, it took three months until I had a couple of clear nights for doing another test on the brain tool and my settings. The weather in the Bortle Class 2 area in Denmark wasn't good. So I did this run back home in Germany. In July I ran the two sessions on the Iris Nebula, using 144s and 300s subs...

Re: Brain tool

Hi Robin, and thanks. I have been into astrophotography for 3.5 years by now. So I know all concepts and have most gadgets at hand. But what's new to me is Sharp Cap and the brain tool. I started to use Sharp Cap because I'm on the scientific approach and wanted to reduce as many variables in using ...

Re: Brain tool

Hi there, sorry for jumping into this topic, but I my question just starts off where the previous ends. I have taken two tries right as the manual describes with my ZWO ASI 183MC (color) cam. Each time I did measure the sky brightness with the brain tool first, then I captured 1 or 2 sessions and st...

How to backup/restore SharpCap settings?

Hi,

I had to change my capturing notebook and so I'd like to copy my whole SharpCap configuration, sesnsor analysis data, etc. from my old to my new notebook. What's the best practice? Is there a list of files for doing this?

Thanks and regards,
Sven

Re: Dark Frames only single file produced

Hi,

I have tried to do so, but it didn't work. I did put the cap on my telescope, went to the Start Capture Menu and started to take another 25 frames. I kept all settings as they were.

All frames were dropped. Do you know why?

Thanks,
Sven
