Hello Robin,
it's nice to hear that others are also interested in such functionality. Rationale is really simple - to get maximum signal information on arbitrary target on frame to optimize exposure times no to saturate needed targets.
Best wishes,
Tõnis

Re: Recording in ADV format
Hello Robin, I think you are correct. In principle, the design of FITS file should allow writing data into a file till the header is updated for actual values (either in when opening a file for writing or just before closing the file). A'la something like that: NAXIS = 3 NAXIS1 = 2 // x NAXIS2 = 2 /...

Re: Live Stacking and pixel values
Hello Robin, yes, that explains it and in fact the solution makes completely sense from most users point of view. Indeed, in one of my flat field frames (collected with Live Stack) some random pixel has value 1600000000, in the header TRUEDEPTH = 16 and BITSHIFT=15 are present. So every original pix...

Pixel statistics that follows cursor
Hello! I have really missed the possibility of measuring the signal level of collected frames. There is a very neat solution for displaying information in the Histogram window. Similar function would be handy if one would like to optimize the exposure time of deep sky objects (or for photometry) - i...

Live Stacking and pixel values
Hello! I have few questions about FITS files that contain the result of Live Stacking using SharpCap Pro v3.2.6346, 64bit version. My procedure is following when doing photometry of bright stars: - ZWO ASI183MM Pro gain is set to 0 and binning is 1x1, output file type is FITS - In SharpCap settings,...

Re: Recording in ADV format
Hello Robin, sorry for delayed answer. From that link: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1G6Pez2DCpGHStD8wwWnHbOBSRRydgiQu?usp=sharing you get two spectroscopic datacubes, one for flat and another for Vega (there some changes can be seen). This is not really a video but rather a sequence of fra...

Re: Recording in ADV format
Robin, first thank you for impressive program! I'm trying to tame it's Live Stack functionality and I'm very impressed about it's capabilities. FITS format has indeed a nice default/standard possibility to store many frames - as a data cube (when number of axis, NAXIS = 3). Each frame (or extension)...
