Re: Problem with data or calibration
Robin, You have been very helpful and that is much appreciated. I want to recap before I truly panic. The session for which this thread was created was 'normal' by all my typical standards - no dew, no camera rotation, no cooling temp changes, etc. All was very consistent. Tonight, I went and took a...

Re: Problem with data or calibration
Thank you, Robin. Is there a black level you recommend using? I have looked at a lot of sources and cannot find much, if anything, on this. I see some postings in the forum but am not able to make a correlation to my issue. Is this a setting that needs to be changed each session, each type of captur...

Re: Problem with data or calibration
Robin, As a follow up to my post from a few minutes ago, I restacked multiple times, using only bias, then only dark, then only flat...etc. The red glow in the upper left did not show up until I added the flat. My flat looks similar to all my other flats I have ever taken and they have worked well. ...

Re: Problem with data or calibration
Robin, Thank you for your insight. In regards to the cause of this, I recently had a session and ran across a similar issue. I am following the same process I have for the past couple of years and this seems to be a new issue. In the link below are: a light frame, flat, dark flat, master bias, 2 dar...

Problem with data or calibration
Last night I captured 81s x 180 subs of M81 with what appears to be really good data. I took my flats as I have been for 2 years now, same with bias and darks. The result shows several issues that I have never experienced, and I am having a hard time understanding what the cause is. With the excepti...

Re: Altair Hypercam 269C Sensor Analysis?
I have not been able to find the answer to this question: if I am in High Conversion mode, am I supposed to set the gain at 565 and it then converts to 282 (as some sites suggest) or am I supposed to set it at 282? I tried Altairs support with their Facebook site but got more confused after reading ...

Re: Frozen image
I do not have that listed anywhere in the control panel on the right. I am not doing any stacking in Sharpcap at this time. I looked for that last night, but was unable to find it anywhere.

Re: Frozen image
Robin, Thank you for your insight on my previous issue. Last night, I finished using my new L-enhance filter to image the Horsehead Nebula and decided to see what a couple images of the moon would look like. After taking a couple images, the previously mentioned “frozen” image appeared again. I did ...

is this dew?
I had my dew shield on last night and after processing 2.5 hours of images from last night, I find these on my images. I know they are not dust as my flats do not have these on them. I have imaged in "dewy" conditions and my shield ahs always worked, but am thinking since my scope was poin...

Re: Frozen image
Robin,
Thank you so much...the shift click worked.
Is there anything that can get rid of the delay in capturing images.....I have the "don't wait" message now that I must click for the sequence to begin.
Thanks again for your help!!
