Re: Collimation of Newtonian Telescopes using SharpCap

Thanks Robin Good idea to include that within Sharpcap! Is Sharpcap able now to manage meridian flip? I use NINA for this reason, and the high capabilities of its Advanced Sequencer. It don't manage .SER format. It would be a good idea to create a plugin to allow NINA to use Sharpcap. Cheers Dominique

Re: Collimation of Newtonian Telescopes using SharpCap

Hi Robin,
It seems to be like OCAL system.
Of course OCAL is a full system with camera and software. I haven't read all your large explanation, but the fundamentals seem to be the same. Is it thrue ? Where are differences ?

Re: Reference of timestamp

A lot of thanks to both of you, Robin and Christian for your reactivity and yours so accurate informations!
I have now all the answers needed. I'll share these informations with 2 of my friends, also invested in occultations (Pierre et Jean-Baptiste).

Re: Reference of timestamp

Hi Robin thanks for the precisions brought 2 years ago to Michel. I also use Sharpcap for occultations, but I use .ser files. We have to bring the more corrections as possible (some msec) to obtain the very precise time where the occultation occurs. So we have to evaluate each "systemics errors...

Re: Automatic mount flip

Hi, I read again this conversation. One action may be welcome: autofocus (optional) after the flip. But sometimes it's not wishable (for photometry session as example).

Re: Saving changes within profile

Thanks Robin I will go to verify that on the PC used with the telescope. Until now, in general settings, we have the choice to specify the format for video (.SER in my case) and another one for photo (I specified .FITS) MAy be the problem would be in "video mode" as default.. How to specif...
