Re: ASI294MC Pro Cooler ?

I have the same experience as Tim: my previous camera was a ASI294MC Pro and current it's the AS071MC Pro. With both the fan was always on (no cooling yet ofcourse) when it was connected to power (I use a 220V adapter here at home) and connected to USB (active USB3 cable in my case). This without Sh...

NGC 7380 - Sh2-142 Wizard Nebula / Ha b/w

Despite very faint, very high wispy clouds, I took my changes and gathered 6.5 hours (39 x 600 seconds) of the Wizard Nebula with the Optolong L-eXtreme filter last week. Probably because of that and/or because I'm in the middle of a city with Bortle 6/7, I got almost no OIII in the capture. Neverth...

Re: Behaviour on Exposure Change Has Changed

I use the manual wheel feature and here when I do an update, the details of that and names of the filters are there in the updated version.
Maybe Robin knows more about it.

Re: Behaviour on Exposure Change Has Changed

Hi

There was a bug that caused that. The new updated version 4.0.7995 on the download page fixed that.

Re: M82 Cigar Galaxy (multiband)

Ehr, yeah ... that is indeed "final" Tim :)
But I had a few past sessions in mind for re-processing with Ha in the RGB red-channel and that's done now.
But I'm 100% sure I'll experiment again with those sessions when I find something new with processing :P

Re: M82 Cigar Galaxy (multiband)

Okay, this is the final re-processing of captures with Ha data in it. Here again I now did stack and process the Ha and RGB data separately and then used the merged RGB and Ha red channel data in the red channel of the RGB. Also, for me new, I discovered that if I lower the contrast a little bit as ...

Re: Overcorrecting Flats

Hi Neil

To add to what Robin said.
Did you already try to make separate flats in SharpCap and then make the masterflat in DSS?
I had similar problems like you described but once I let DSS make my master calibration files, it was all fine.

Using the manual filter wheel option as filter categorization for color cameras

Here a tip to categorize FITS captures with a color camera so that it includes the used filter without an actual filter wheel. I have a color camera and filters like the Optolongs, Baader, IR-Pass, etc. But I lost track each time in my older captures of what filter I used. I don't have a filter whee...
