Re: Darkest area of image

Hi

I also raised this question, I have similar things with it. See viewtopic.php?f=38&t=3776, maybe your input also can help there?

M81 Bode's Galaxy + Holmberg IX (10 hours of data)

M81 Bode's Galaxy including Holmberg IX (faint smal area at the top in the middle), a mag 16.5 dwarf irregular galaxy. It's very young with 200 million years and is the youngest nearby galaxy. My first capture with more integration time, in this case 10 hours :) There were finally a few clear nights...

Re: Bug: area selection changes with Smart Histogram measurement

Thanks for the explanation, Robin. I do know a lot of people will crop their captures, removing a bit or lot from the edge because of aberrations or vignetting. Maybe it's an idea to make an option for a manual measurement area? My Zwo ASI071MC Pro indeed has blue as the darkest color. I don't know ...

Re: Bug: area selection changes with Smart Histogram measurement

Hi Robin I tried this all last night and a question and a observation. Question (based upon the observation below): in this case the testing area was closely hugging the edge of my FOV. When it measures, does aberrations, vignetting, and so on, matter? Observation: last night I was busy with NGC 369...

Re: Bug: area selection changes with Smart Histogram measurement

Okay, totally clear, Robin. Thanks.
But still a kind of mini text-bug then: the text in SC mentions "... the darkest are in view."

Re: Bug: area selection changes with Smart Histogram measurement

Ah, okay. A typical case of RTFM on my side
But It doesn't matter that there is a somewhat bright star in the measurement area?

By the looks of it, your experimenting was rather fruitful :)
Nice capture.

Bug: area selection changes with Smart Histogram measurement

Version 4.0.7390.0 I select an area to measure with the Smart Histogram. See screenshot 1. I click Measure, it starts and as soon as the next measurement capture starts, the area selection becomes small and is set to the left side, see screenshot 2. Restarted SC, the same happens. Menno Screenshot1....

Re: M45 Pleiades - Failure

@ Brenski Maybe stupid question but what you see, is that when you use SharpCap and make a 1 captures or a bunch of captures and then stack them? If it is 1 capture, then you will only see (faint) stars. You can "enhance" that view by clicking the AutoStretch button on the right side (the ...

Re: Suggestion: return to previous output format after plate solve

It's fixed. When plate solving fails and after that succeeds, that capture format goes back to the previous format :)
Thanks.
