Re: Corrections keep changing

I love chasing the all zeros with Sharpcap. It is a personal challenge for me. It takes the most minutest tweaks to do. Barely perceptible movements, more like pressure changes. I can't say it makes a difference. But I find it fun to do. But just the slightest changes. I'm using an ASI 290 Mi...

Re: Guide Scope Polar Alignment

Thanks Robin! Now that SharpCap has but one profile, for the one camera, it is working fantastic. And since I am not dismantling my mount all the time, it holds Polar Alignment almost well enough to skip it. But I never do skip my PA. I need the accuracy of a great Polar Alignment to set up my model...

Re: Guide Scope Polar Alignment

Hi Just getting back to it after a bit of a medical lay-up. But I finally am getting some of the cobwebs out of my head. My basic problem is I have a single guide camera, single telescope, single mount.... But multiple profiles for the one camera (ASI 290 MM) I use to do my Polar Alignment and guidi...

Re: PA fails on step 2

The times I've had troubles with my MMAG SSAG, I usually find I need to check my focus.
It's rare, but sometimes correcting my focus helps Sharpcap snap right to it.

Re: Easy Polar Alignment

A friend suggested using my Guide Scope for Polar Alignment.
Since I have a newer ASI290 MM Mini guide scope that has a much high resolution, I tried it.
Now I do my PA with my guiding as a rule.
Super great results. :!:

Re: PA not plate solving - first step

When I've had slow solves, or no solves, it's usually (well always) been fixed by checking/adjusting my focusing. I'm using a ZWO ASI290 MM Mini in my 50 mm guide scope for Sharpcap. It's very rare I have any troubles with Sharpcap, and it always comes back to my human error. So I suggest mak...

Re: Guide Scope Polar Alignment

Thanks Robin!
Sorry for such a delay getting back to this.
I did some trial and error tonight and found a good improvement with my equipment.
I tend to move slowly working up my equipment.
But when things begin to click together, they really worked great.
Very happy!
Thank You,
SonnyE

Re: Should the mount be tracking during polar align

Thank You for that clarification, Robin. My mount, a Losmandy GM811GHD, goes to tracking when started. It seems to be the nature of the Gemini II controller. So I do my Sharpcap Polar Alignment with my mount off, and just manually do the axis rotation, and return to CWD (counter weight down) before ...

Guide Scope Polar Alignment

Up until last night, I've been doing my Polar Alignment with my Main telescope and imaging camera (Atik Infinity OSC). But a discussion with another brought up doing Polar Alignment using the Guide Scope and Guiding Camera, which was appealing to me being as I have a newer ASI 290 MM Mini guide came...
