Re: Sensor Analysis for QHY5III-485C
I don't have a 485C but I noticed this thread You might want to install the latest USB driver package from QHY. A recent version of it includes the following release note: 1.QHY5III485C:Fixed the RGB issue under 16 bits mode; There's an ongoing issue with the driver installation package that might r...

Re: Want unlinked stretch
thanks for confirming - I'm still concerned about how this might work in the UI. Would an 'advanced' colour balance mode where you have a second set of colour balance sliders that are applied before the stretch help? You could use those sliders to normalize the green level down, then apply the same...

Re: Want unlinked stretch
just to be sure I understand this correctly, this would stretch each channel individually, rather than them all having the same stretch, yes? Correct. The problem with all channels being linked to the same transform value is that a debayered RGGB image assumes a green cast due to the overrepresenta...

Want unlinked stretch
Hey Robin I realize that this likely isn't your current area of focus right now, but I just wanted to toss this suggestion into the bucket since, AFAICT, there hasn't been a mention of it before: It would be quite handy to have the option to perform an unlinked stretch, at least when it comes to liv...

Re: QHY128C Gain Question
They are actually two slightly different cameras -- we have one of each (but the non-pro is in the shop right now). Is there some way I can get this run sometime soon by overriding something? I'm headed out shortly to utah to shoot the sky and I'd love to be able to profile my sensors. A deeper que...

Re: QHY 294c
I incremented through the 110-123ms and 188-200ms in 1ms increments and noticed no jumps, just an ever-so-slightly decreasing mean at each step as I made the exposure time faster. So while not an exhaustive survey of the camera's entire range of exposure times, there does seem to be this on 60ms gap...

Re: QHY 294c
Interesting, it feels like we're getting somewhere. I tried switching to single frame mode, but that causes SharpCap to crash in GetQHYCCDSingleFrame() with a memory violation. The crash uploader uploaded it as crash #97568 Your hunch about single frame vs. stream mode is a good one because I know b...

Re: QHY 294c
Thanks, Robin. I updated and re-ran the test. It didn't succeed, but this time failed in determining the gain range. I dumped the log as an additional file in the above github gist link. The thing I did notice, though, was that during the gain range test, it spun its wheels and croaked when gain = 1...

Re: QHY 294c
Same here USB Traffic control is missing for my QHY294C. Because the lack of control, I can't throttle download speed on my light computer in my observatory... USB Speed control was only recently added by QHY. To get it on the 294, you need both an updated SDK (which Sharpcap does have) but also an...

Re: QHY 294c
Hey Robin, I've a QHY294C as well that never seems to get past the sensor analysis test. In the time since other posts in this thread, QHY has improved the SDK somewhat, and in the most recent combination of the USB and SDK, there is now USB speed control for this model, which Shapcap dutifully pick...
