Re: Focus Assistant Extraneous Symbols
Hey Robin, I see what you're saying about the still frame issue. So the extra symbols are actually measurements from a frame that comes in while the focuser is moving. The extra symbols don't prevent me from focusing, but they do make it more difficult because the graph becomes filled with symbols a...

Region Selection for Live Stack Histogram/Color Balance
I may be missing how to do this, but it would be nice to be able to select a region for the live stack histogram and color balance. In particular, when dithering, the edges of the image have only partial data and I think this throws off the automatic histogram adjustment and automatic color balance ...

Focus Assistant Extraneous Symbols
Hi, I am using an ASI294MC pro with motorized Moonlite focuser and the focus assistant to find my optimal focus. I just started using Sharpcap 4.0 (Windows 10 64-bit), and am on version 8047.0. I find that each time I change focus position, I get an extraneous symbol (green or red triangle) in betwe...

"Flip Both" affects color in RAW8 mode
Hi Robin, I was collecting images from the lunar eclipse last night and after a meridian flip I decided to use the "flip both" option to get the image oriented the same as before the meridian flip. Today I discovered that all of the images after I selected "flip both" did not deb...

Re: Raw8 Frames
Thanks to Dave (turfpit) I now have a working solution for this. The key is the input setting in PIPP. You must check "Debayer Monochrome Frames" under input settings, and then select "RGGB" under "Colour Debayer Options". The RGGB selection works for my ZWO 224MC camer...

Re: Raw8 Frames
Thanks for that link Robin. I downloaded it and gave it a try, unfortunately still no joy, at least in DSS. It's strange because DSS says on the file info line that the files are RGB 8-bit, but when it stacks them, it comes out in B/W still. I think this may be a limitation of DSS, although when I t...

Raw8 Frames
I have been getting in the habit of capturing the raw frames when I do live stacking. I normally capture in Raw8 format to save disk space, but I'm having trouble processing the files. The manual says that Raw8 files can be debayered by programs like Registax or Deep Sky Stacker, however, the captur...

Re: Histogram Reset Adjustments, and a few others
Thanks for all the info Robin. Gamma of 0.5 usually makes my images too noisy, but I'm always playing with the settings. You are right that I was capturing in RAW8 for the video. Somehow I never noticed that before. I think maybe I used to capture in RGB but I think I saw somewhere that RAW8 gave hi...

Histogram Reset Adjustments, and a few others
Hi Robin, I had my first chance to use Sharpcap 3.0 pro, ver 3881, last night. I've been using Sharpcap for a while now and it is terrific. I have a couple issues to report though. I am using a ZWO ASI224MC and I have windows 10 (latest updates). 1) When I click "reset adjustments" in the ...
