Re: Newbie very puzzled about how SharpCap Polar Alignment would work with Celestron CPWI
I am curious as to how any software program is going to adjust your Altitude and Azimuth knobs for you. They may tell you which direction and how far in Minutes and Seconds it has to be moved, but can't turn the knobs for you. Adjusting the Alt and Az is the only way to physically Polar align.

Polar Align Tool
In my opinion SC has the easiest to use Polar Align tool out there. Since SC can control the mount's movement, how hard would it be to have a button that would take the mount from a park position to an east or west position to put the counterweight bar parallel with the ground for the first PA solvi...

Re: Flats - Darks - Fits - PNG - Live Stack
Another question regarding flats. DSS alerts me if my Darks, Flats, Dark Flats, or Bias frames are not taken at the same gain as the Lights. I did observe this parameter a few nights ago and after completing taking my Lights, as follows: Stood the scope up to zenith, turned off tracking, installed t...

Re: Flats - Darks - Fits - PNG - Live Stack
I have used SC focusing tools with varying success. Focusing by hand can be a challenge because you have to ignore a couple image cycles because due to movement in the scope train from touching the focus knob. Interesting story about the Bahtinov mask though, my step son has a 3d printer and I have ...

Re: Flats - Darks - Fits - PNG - Live Stack
My last reply was on the 9th, and I have been out imaging twice since then. I think I am starting to get it, and the 60s exposure at Unity gain 141 is working. Dave, as you said I need to be patient and gather more data. My imaging last night included 100 - 60s frames of M51, M63, and M65, or 300 to...

Lunar Tracking
The Full Moon couple nights ago finally got the best of my imaging, so I just made it my target. I selected Lunar Tracking several times but the Tracking always went back to Sidreal. Is it possible CDC is overriding my Lunar Selection?
