Re: Deep Sky image annotation for asteroids
Hi, I do have a library already included in SharpCap that should be able to do the calculations. No doubt though it will use different names for the orbital parameters than the data file, so that usually means a good bit of head scratching to get them lined up, then some careful testing to make sure...

Re: Feature Tracking Tool
Hi, actually, I have another alignment tracking algorithm that might help - currently used in the planetary stacking, but I could bring it to feature tracking. It may well track movements better than the current code. I have it on a todo list :) Since I'm here, I worked out why the feature highlight...

Re: Manual Focus - mororised focuser attached
Hi, in theory yes, since I have something similar for the mount movement already, but I don't think there is any obvious space to put them in the focuser UI. I am always reluctant to make the UI for things like focuser/mount bigger, since it's too easy to just add another 20 pixels for this feature ...

Re: Sync & ReCenter
Hi, thanks for the log - a first run through it seems to indicate that the mount isn't moving to the position that it's being asked to goto after the sync Info 22:19:00.560001 #1 Field solved to RA=12:33:56.3,Dec=+12:05:53, field Size {Width=0.47526357, Height=0.4753004} Info 22:19:01.561852 #1 Befo...

Re: 183MC-Pro weirdness with SC 4.1.12025.0 (64-bit)
Hi, the line of interest in the log is this one, which comes after you switched to 90s exposure Warning 19:29:10.535530 #30 Fetching still frame from ZWO camera failed with ExpFailed, exposure is 90000, timeout is 114500 The key there is that the result from the ZWO SDK was the error 'ExpFailed' - t...

Re: Weird behavior SC 4.1.11824
Hi, thanks for the data - I can see the plots for the cases which failed and they look like the should work, although they are very much 'V' shaped curves rather than 'U' shaped, which might be part of the issue (you tend to get U shapes if you do a narrower scan close to best focus position, V shap...

Re: Sharpcap Pro et Exos 2 GOTO Bresser
Hi, I wonder if the problem is actually the 'POTH' - that is now old software and has been replaced by ASCOM's new 'Device Hub Telescope'. The first thing to try is to download and install the very latest ASCOM platform from https://ascom-standards.org/Downloads/Index.htm and then try using 'Device ...

Re: GoTo : wrong coordinates for targets
Hi Mike, yes, a full log file of a session where you hit the problem would be great, along with any comments you have on things you noticed happening that might be of interest. As I mentioned above, it might be best to split the action into the initial GOTO (no plate solve selected) and then a plate...

Re: Deep Sky image annotation for asteroids
Hi, let me think about this one - the Ephemeris data looks sort of promising as it has the info in we need (RA, Dec, Magnitude, plus some we dont) and it also has a fairly fixed format. On the other hand, what if SharpCap could download the MPC orbital elements and calculate the ephemeris? In that c...

Re: Time Sync from PC to Mount
Hi, I just did a test with CPWI and my Nexstar SE mount. It looks like CPWI bypasses the normal handset time/date routines (the handset display changes to 'BOOT LOADER Serial Pass Through'. CPWI also seems to report the current PC time via the ASCOM driver, so it looks like the CPWI software already...
