Re: GoTo : wrong coordinates for targets

Oooh, interesting....

I had already got some code that handled this problem in the case of French number formats, so when I tested those, it works, but it breaks for German ones!

I wonder why...

Re: Problem with livestacks - dark subtraction - in EEA

Hi, the issue looks like there are a handful of hot pixels in the light frames that are not present in the dark frames, so they are not being corrected. When SharpCap is using dark frames, it will look for statistically hot pixels in the dark frame and then 'airbrush' those out in the light frame wi...

Re: Auto focus tool

Hi, yes, it would be helpful to understand what you tried to do that didn't work out... The SharpCap tool works best by starting somewhat out of focus on one side, and then moving through best focus to out-of-focus on the other side. This should produce a curve in the graph that SharpCap can detect ...

Re: Exposure Starting Point

Hi Jerry, I'm not aware of any standard table or info that suggests the total integration time needed for various magnitudes of objects - there are a few problems with this idea I suppose 1) The magnitude usually indicates the brightest parts of the object, but often we are interested in seeing the ...

Re: GoTo : wrong coordinates for targets

Hi folks, thanks for continuing to contribute to this - something very odd going on. I just tested the GOTO of Regulus here and get this in my log Debug 10:17:17.454603 #1 Sequencer : Info : 'Converting RA=10:08:22.3,Dec=+11:58:00 (J2000) position to RA=10:09:40.4,Dec=+11:50:53 (JNOW)' while running...

Re: ASIAM5 Polar Align

Hi Jerry, really glad to hear that you got there in the end. The plate solve setting does default to be the 'recenter target' option, so I suspect that you changed it at some point in the 'lets keep trying things to try to get stuff working' stage and then forgot about it. For those who might encoun...

Re: Version 4.1 plate solving issues

Hi Trev, in the older version you must have been using an external plate solver (Astap, Astrotortilla, etc). You have got 4.1 configured to use SharpCap's built in plate solver, but it looks from the log like you have a field of view of 0.32x0.18 degrees from a focal length of 2000mm. This field of ...

Re: star measurement

Hi, there is an experimental 'stellar photometry' feature which will add an overlay giving details like the number of photons in the frame from a particular star. At the moment, all you get is the on-image readout of the data, and there is no way to pick the stars beyond using the selection box to n...
