Re: Bug with dark frame + black level adjustment

Ah, OK, I understand now. 'Default' stacking automatically scales the data (and the live stack histogram) for brightest pixel in the stack. That means that if your frames that are beign stacked have a maximum brightness of 25%, there is an implicit 'multiply everything by 4' in default stacking - th...

Re: Multi-panel sequence vs. auto-focus/guiding

Hi, that's not necessary in the sequencer. In Live Stacking you are running the camera like a video camera, capturing frames all the time. That is why you need to reduce the exposure while dithering to avoid throwing away long frames. In the sequencer, you are running the camera like a still camera ...

Re: Bug with dark frame + black level adjustment

Hi, you were right, a picture does mean more than 1000 words... It is something to do with using the 'Sigma Clipped' stacking option - when I turn that on I see the same as you, when I set the stacking to 'Default', everything is fine. I will try to work out what is going on with the sigma clipped o...

Re: Mallincamsky DS26c cannot make flats

Hi Dan, sorry that you are disappointed. As you know I don't have access to the camera you are using (or any Mallincam cameras for that matter), so the only way I can deal with bugs relating to using the cameras is by working through log files that show the problem happening to see if it is possible...

Re: SharpCap 4.0 Beta Now Available

Hi Steve, difficult to know what else to suggest - all the multi-app-to-one-device stuff is handled either by the ASCOM driver itself or ASCOM - SharpCap just asks to connect , which either succeeds or fails - there is very little that I can do to influence what happens. If you are getting failure t...

Re: M57. Working to improve image sharpness

Hi Tim, it would certainly be worth a try with the FWHM filter to see if that helps - set the target quite low to include only ~50% of frames. You can rig up the RAW frame saving to save everything just in case you need to revisit the selection later. I also wonder wether feature tracking in 4.0 mig...

Re: Multi-panel sequence vs. auto-focus/guiding

Hi, that all looks promising - I can't see anything obviously wrong. GUIDING START will attempt to begin guiding on your connected guiding application if it is not already guiding - see https://docs.sharpcap.co.uk/4.0/#!2!Guiding GUIDING STOP will stop guiding. Useful during plate solve and sync/got...

Re: FocusDream COMexception with SC4 and 3.2 64bit

Hi, if you are seeing that error on 64 bit and not on 32 then the most likely cause is that the FocusDream driver is only setting itself up for 32 bit applications. This could be because of a limitation in the driver, or it could be that the developer forgot about the possibility of 64 bit apps, or ...

Re: Sv305 problem

Hi, are the cameras all connected back to the computer using separate USB cables to separate USB ports? Sometimes I've seen issues where sharing a USB port via a USB hub can cause similar issues. Other than that, does the Polemaster recover if you physically unplug both it and the SV305 and then rec...
