Re: Request for Framing assistant
Hi, yes, the up/down/left/right is Alt/Az directions - they go a bit weird near the celestial pole and I'm not sure I understand why, but they are OK for the vast majority of the sky. Hope I got them the right way round as haven't had clear sky to check yet, so it is all based on the mathematics :) ...

Re: Not picking up stars for alignment
Hi, two things to check... 1) use the 'reset all' button in the star detection settings to put default values back in case something has been changed Capture.JPG 2) check that you are not usign a display stretch in either live stacking or the mini histogram that may be brightening the image enough f...

Re: QHY247c border shading only in Sharpcap
Hi, looking at the settings you are using in SharpCap, some of them seem a little odd White Bal (B)=2 White Bal (G)=1 White Bal (R)=1 Gamma=1.12 Setting gamma to anything other than 1.00 applies a non-linear stretch to the image before it gets to SharpCap - that's a bad thing for deep sky imaging (b...

Re: Does Sharpcap integrate with any planning tools?
Hi Rob, the documentation doesn't exist yet for the steps available in the sequencer (and anyway, I'm still adding new ones fairly regularly). However all the steps do show up in the left hand panel of the sequence editor and there is a search box just above the list of available steps to help narro...

Re: Automatic ROI shift
Ah, an interesting trick - thanks for sharing!
I still have the idea of making a 'step size' adjustment for the ROI movement on my todo list - right now I am mostly fixing bugs to try to get ready for 4.0 to be released though.
cheers,
Robin

Re: New Tools
Hi, * Plate Solve (Solve Only) - this is just a rename of the old plate solve option from the tools menu to make it clear that all it does is run a plate solve - it will do nothing with the results * Plate Solve and Resync - this is a different way to get to the plate solving functionality built int...

Re: DITHER IN THE AEQUENCER
Hi Derek,
sounds good - did you also reduce the 'max dither step' in the SharpCap settings?
cheers,
Robin

Re: Request for Framing assistant
I have just been improving the pixel readout feature (both with this in mind and also because seeing the directions of RA/Dec etc has helped me iron out some bugs in the code).
Here's what it looks like now - not sure if it will be helpful or not
