Re: Horsehead Nebula and Lunt LS60 THa
Hi, I don't see why not... It might be quite small as you will get a fairly widefield view of about 2 by 1.5 degrees (see https://astronomy.tools/calculators/field_of_view/). I presume that the blocking filter in the diagonal is the only filter in the LS60THa, meaning it is a normal telescope with t...

Re: Sequenced LRGB/refocus/mono-cam live stacking
Hi,
yes, a feature like that is certainly on the 'would like to add' list, but as you point out it's not really as simple as it sounds (and that's even before you start thinking about having multiple channels live stack data and merging them and so on...)
cheers,
Robin

Re: Why am I getting this noise?
Hi Prasad, I have a very old (pre-production sample) ASI174MC that sometimes does things like that. On other days it behaves itself and gives normal pictures. In the case of my ASI174 I think it is a problem with the camera itself (not sure if hardware or software on the camera). Your problem could ...

Re: 183MC-Pro weirdness with SC 4.1.12025.0 (64-bit)
Hi Mike, if it happens again, you can check the log and look for entries like Warning 19:38:18.227459 #30 Fetching still frame from ZWO camera failed with ExpFailed, exposure is 120000, timeout is 146000 in bool SharpCap.Cameras.ASI.ASICameraProxy.GetFrameData(int timeout, BufferFrame frame, Cancell...

Re: CPWI crash/restart leaves SharpCap half working
Hi Chris, what is going on there is that SharpCap monitors the mount location in the background every second or so. When CPWI dies, that starts failing, and after 10 failures in a row, SharpCap gives up trying. Reconnecting the mount in SharpCap will get the monitoring running again, but otherwise i...

Re: AllSky cameras (round 2)
Hi Peter, glad to hear that it worked! You are right that changing the saved profile will allow you to make adjustments without altering the sequence code. ZWO cameras do have auto gain as well as auto exposure options, and there are some adjustments you can make in the 'Misc Controls' section to sp...

Re: Crashing during flat capturing
Hi,
I will have a look to see how easy it would be to have a 'do not show this again' checkbox (or similar).
thanks,
Robin

Re: My Python scripts broke between 4.1.11137.0 and 4.1.12025.0
Hi, thanks for the list of live stacking breakages. The LiveStackViewModel was not supposed to be available from scripting, so I won't be reintroducing direct access to that, but I will try to wire in equivalent properties via SharpCap.LiveStacking directly for you. Hopefully I will find some time t...

Re: using a ASI585 with 4.1
Hi Trev, a good test to make sure you have the right bayer pattern set is to shine a red light into the telescope (or onto the camera sensor). Try all the patterns and the one that gives a red (reddish) image is the right one. I think the auto option is likely to be fine, but worth checking. Once yo...
