Re: QHY Driver

Hi, if you have access to a real Windows PC at all then it would probably be a good idea to test on that PC to see if you can get things working without parallels being involved. If that works nicely then maybe parallels is causing the problem. If it fails on the real Windows PC in the same way then...

Re: Offline Smart Histogram Brain Analysis

Hi, adding that sort of calculation would (as suggested) be quite a lot of work, so it is going to be something to think about in the long term rather than something that can happen now... On the plus side, SharpCap 4.0 already has much finer control for the entry of a sky brightness level - you can...

Re: Field Of View For Polar Alignment

Hi, not with any reliability - sometimes it might work, but SharpCap's star database gets too thin by the time you get down to that sort of field of view for there to always be enough stars in each field of view to let the calculations work. Some people have had success with a 0.5x focal reducer (th...

Re: Live Stacking unresponsive

Hi Joe, two separate places to look 1) The main log - Help Menu, choose 'Show Log', then press the 'Copy to Clipboard' button (you can then paste the log into Notepad, word, etc). https://docs.sharpcap.co.uk/3.2/#Show%20LogSharpCap%20shows%20ASCOM%20focuser%20positions%20on%20the%20Focus%20score%20g...

Re: Live Stacking unresponsive

Hi Joe, sadly I don't think those control changes will have much significance - for instance the frame rate limit would only make a difference if you were running at more than 100 frames per second, and the auto exposure maximum gain only applies in auto exposure mode. Let's hope that the power sett...

Re: zoom in second monitor?

Hi Broz,

yes, the trick to zoom the second monitor is to put the mouse over it and use CTRL + Scroll Wheel - the zoom is deliberately independent between the two monitors as the different sizes of the two displays would otherwise lead to quite a mess.

cheers,

Robin

Re: QHY Driver

Hi, that message in yellow isn't so much an error as a warning - it's saying that you must let the wheel complete it's initial calibration spin before opening the camera in SharpCap - if you let it complete the spin then SharpCap should pick it up automatically. If the spin has not completed then Sh...

Re: Additive dark/flat application [SOLVED]

Hi, certainly having a different offset/brightness/black level between the darks and lights could be a problem. Unfortunately different manufacturers have chosen different terms for this setting and SharpCap tries to go along with the choice that the manufacturers of the camera have made (for consis...

Re: Live Stacking unresponsive

Hi Joe, unfortunately your screenshot was such a tiny image that it was impossible to read the stacked frame/ignored frame count, but if neither is going up then the problem is that frames are not coming from the camera, rather than an alignment problem. That being said, the fact that you are aligni...

Re: QHY-183M 8-16 bit images

Hi, I think I would recommend turning off the 'Save without scaling' option and see if the problem goes away - the problem with that option is that the data always comes to SharpCap as 16 bit and then SharpCap has to undo the scaling that the QHY SDK has already applied. In order to undo the scaling...
