Re: Dark frame is completely dark on SV605cc

I have few questions: 1 - Have I done right by using same Black level for Darks and Stacking? 2 - Have I done right when using Darks made through 500msec exposures' for Stacking 5sec. exposures? 3 - And last but not least - I am having difficult time to understand why Black level should be higher, ...

Re: SharpCap V4.1 Compatibility with PLL Eagle LE

Hi,

I think I might be able to help with that - it looks like the updated 'SharpCap.exe' 32-bit file for 4.1 is missing a flag that tells the operating system that it can use more than 2Gb of memory. If I can apply that flag for the next update then it should help...

Re: My Python scripts broke between 4.1.11137.0 and 4.1.12025.0

Ah, yes, the BinFactor is the number of pixels that are being binned together, so for 2x2 binning, it is going to be 4, 3x3 will give 9 and so on. Some cameras also have the possibility for asymmetric bin like 2x3 or 3x4. I have reinstated the Bin property and Move to make them usable by scripting i...

Re: Feature Tracking Tool

Hi Mike,

can I ask how you set up and run the timelapse? Since it's clearly an intermittent problem, I'd like to get the setup as similar as possible to yours so that I have a decent chance of making the same thing happen here.

cheers,

Re: Astronomical Dawn stopped my sequence

Hi, I think that is correct behaviour - the step is 'Stop running when astronomical event happens or has already happened'. This meanst that any time of the day after the sun has come up will be considered a time to stop running the contained steps. The goal is to have some predictability - maybe yo...

Re: sharpcap fails following restart.

Hi, yes, that's definitely an odd one - not heard of that before! If you have a look in SharpCap's log folder (use File menu, then 'Show Log', then 'Locate on Disk'), the logs for the crashed runs will probably be there and might contain some info about what is going wrong (on the other hand, they c...

Re: My Python scripts broke between 4.1.11137.0 and 4.1.12025.0

Hi, sorry about this - I made some changes to the way that the scripting worked for this sort of thing because I found that internal things in the code were usable in scripting, which I hadn't intended. Unfortunately there are two problems... Firstly people had already found and started using the in...

Re: selecting dark frame accidentally hit x...

Hi Marc, the frame is not deleted when you hit 'X', just removed from the list of darks shown in the dropdown in SharpCap. All you need to do is find it on disk, where it will still be in the original location. If you captured it using SharpCap's dark capture function then have a look in the main 'S...

Re: AllSky cameras (round 2)

Hi Peter, unfortunately ASCOM remote when used to control cameras is really only suitable for long exposure capturing where the extra time taken by the remote connection and transferring the frame over the network doesn't matter too much (compared to an exposure of 30s or 90s etc). For high speed im...
