Re: driver for QHY5III290C

Hi Ernie, you can check in device manager using the steps provided by QHY - just stop at the point where you can see the driver properties, which should look like this Capture.JPG If an old version is listed, try the 'Update Driver' button. It seems that when you install new QHY drivers, it doesn't ...

Re: New Feature : Deep Sky Image Annotation

Hi Roel, the list should display just over the bottom right corner of the main window (largely out of the way of the image). Maybe the calculations are going wrong for your monitor setup. I will re-check them. The crash is because SharpCap is (wrongly) saving the first version of the annotated image...

Re: driver for QHY5III290C

Hi,

hope that the steps that you received from QHY helped. The driver you currently have is a 2016 version, so really old. Perhaps the new update from QHY isn't very good at updating such an old driver.

cheers,

Re: Dither only (no guiding) using ASCOM mount pulse guiding

Hi, ok, so when you use this option, SharpCap stops imaging, sends a small random pulse guide command to your mount to make the dither movement and then starts imaging again. The only settings that apply if using dither only guiding are * Dither in RA only * Maximum dither step * Minimum Settle time...

Re: SharpCap 4.0 prompts the guiding status as ”Stopped” while Live Stacking

Hi, OK, now it is starting to make sense... The simple thing is that it is not possible for SharpCap and PHD to share the same camera - you need two cameras to get both working properly. PHD needs to take images at a fairly high rate (every second or so) in order to keep on top of any errors in trac...

Re: Plate Solving Issues

Hi, glad it is sorted. The focus thing is interesting... When I was re-writing some star detection code for SharpCap 4.0, I wanted to make it find bigger (more out of focus) stars so that the autofocus routines would work better. It turns out that trying to find very out-of-focus stars is slow becau...

Re: driver for QHY5III290C

Hi Ernie, I think you need to install the QHY all-in-one pack from this page : https://www.qhyccd.com/download/ The direct link to download the current version is : https://www.qhyccd.com/file/repository/publish/AllInOne/211023/QHYCCD_Win_AllInOne.21.10.23.19.exe When you install that, it will offer...

Re: Overscan area

Hi, this is a peculiarity of some QHY cameras. The extended area is available when the camera is used in video mode, but not when the camera is in still mode. The camera will be used in video mode when * The 'Live Mode' button in the toolbar is selected *AND* * The 'Force still mode' control is set ...

Re: Various issues with QHY183C

Hi, that's very interesting... do you happen to recall what the colour balance controls were *before* you started making the adjustments? The initial values have either come from the last time you used the camera (if you have the option to automatically restore camera settings turned on), or from th...
