Re: SharpCap Still Mode

Hi,

are you right up to date (new version uploaded today)?

If you are and it still happens then please capture a log for me - just let the bug happen and then grab the log and share it afterwards.

cheers,

Robin

Re: Low Frame Rate with Altair 183C v2

Hi, I disagree - if you set the same settings on both pieces of software then you will get pretty much the same frame rate. The only exception to that is that SharpCap does not enable the lower resolution modes that AltairCapture does. These have limited use anyway as you are sacrificing resolution....

Re: Low Frame Rate with Altair 183C v2

Hi, the limit for this camera at full resolution is about 17fps. You can get faster frame rates by selecting a smaller ROI (in particular it's the height of the ROI that tends to affect the frame rate). If you open the camera into AltairCapture, the live video mode defaults to a lower resolution (18...

Re: Questions about Japanese localization of SharpCapUserManual

Hi, everything has a translation in that file in the latest versions of SharpCap (apart from 'MONO' and 'fps' which I'm told should be OK as they are). Oddly the hardest thing about the translation has been when two or more people both decide to help - one person will translate a particular word or ...

Re: SharpCap 4.0.7906 - Not remembering Night Mode

Hi Phil,

yes, it's been around a while, but only in very odd circumstances (basically the program had already had a bug report to send and some other conditions we met too), so you would have been unlikely to see it.

Re: Roundness filter

Hi, currently the algorithm looks at the roundness (but only to discard stars that are very elongated - these would potentially be other things like double stars and would give incorrect FWHM readings). The same idea of a roundness filter was suggested in a different thread yesterday. It would be in...

Re: Latest autofocus routine is broken?

Hi, I did have an autofocus related bug report yesterday - from the details it looked like the camera had disconnected from the PC while the focusing was happening (this was someone using an ASI533MC - not sure if that was you). Certainly the fact that you had problems getting the camera to work the...

Re: Play back stacking - problems

Hi, it certainly seems that the images converted via PIPP may not be correct, which could lead to both the weird colours and potentially the grid effect. The effects of using the wrong bayer pattern are as follows: Correct pattern => Image looks OK Swapped pattern (RGGB instead of GBRG or BGGR inste...

Hi,

thanks, yes, I had another report of this too - I have a fix already and will try to release an update in the next day or two.
