Re: Sequencer issue

Ok, I have tracked down the issue to a logic error in the sequencer code - when no camera is selected it was incorrectly waiting for the camera to restart after changing the selected device (should only do that if a camera is active). I have a fix that will be in next week's update. I think you coul...

Re: Slew to target after Polar Align

Hi, Geoff has pretty much covered the most likely causes - ie * Wrong latitude/longitude setup for the mount in the ASCOM driver * Wrong home position (should read Dec=+90 and HA=6 when in the home position of scope up, weights down, pointing north) * Also potentially - incorrect time Did you rememb...

Re: Image quality and ROI.

Hi, the FPS tends to matter most for targets that change relatively quickly (Jupiter rotation or solar prominences). For relatively slowly changing targets like the Moon or Saturn, you can always capture for longer to get enough frames, and reduce the exposure as far as required to freeze the seeing...

Re: Sequencer issue

Hi, it looks like it is timing out waiting for the change in selected switch to complete, which is odd since it should be a fairly simple operation (especially as you don't have a camera open). I will have to test a similar setup myself and see if I can reproduce the issue or not. Will get back to y...

Re: Image quality and ROI.

Hi, to make this clearer I'm going to add some specifics... Let's assume your camera is 4000x3000 pixels and you can see the whole of the moon in view at once when using your telescope. So, you capture an image of the moon. Next, you set the camera to only capture an area of 2000x1500 pixels. Now in...

Re: Sharpcap mount control

Hi, I must admit I have no experience with the WIFI connected Skywatcher mounts. I guess the first thing to try would be to see if you can get the Synscan Pro app on the PC to control the virtuoso mount at all via WIFI (using the movement direction buttons and so on). If you get that working then I ...

Re: camera driver development

Hi, there is currently no way for people to add a new brand of cameras to SharpCap and get full support. If you want to develop the integration yourself then you have two options 1) Write or use a DirectShow driver for the camera. There are limitations for DirectShow drivers, including that images m...

Re: DSO Mosaic Planning /Live Stack Mosaics

Hi Geoff, looks like a decent result for a trial run of that approach. Well done. From the SharpCap side of things, there is nothing to stop you starting the GOTO procedure while live stacking is active - in fact in SharpCap 4.1 the GOTO box is aware that live stacking is running and will automatica...

Re: Sequencer issue

Hi Dave, could you share the sequence code that fails for you so that I can test and work out what is going on. Also, please check that you have the latest version of SharpCap 4.1 from our downloads page, just in case there have been relevant bug fixes since the version you are currently using. than...

Re: Automating run including meridian flip

Hi, currently there is no built in meridian flip option that just lets you press a button or tick a box and it happens, although having a button to perform the flip is a nice idea. You can build an imaging sequence containing an automated meridian flip using the SharpCap sequence editor - see the 'M...
