Re: First Time Solar Imaging.....
Hi, it's definitely tougher setting up in the daytime as polar alignment by traditional methods is pretty much impossible. The options you have include... * A permanent setup - or at least leave the mount in position from polar aligning at night. * Polar align at night and mark where the tripod legs...

Re: Sabe TIFF image
Hi, when you are using live stacking, the 'Save with adjustments' and 'Save exactly as seen' always save the image to PNG format - these options are designed to save an image for later viewing rather than further processing, so PNG is a good format as it is lossless but compressed and can cope with ...

Re: Last used camera settings not restored
Hi, just to report that I have now worked this one out and have a fix for the problem. It was an odd one - it took me a long time and alot of trial and error to find out that it only happens when the 'Connect hardware automatically when opening a camera' option is turned on! Once I knew that it turn...

Re: using a ASI585 with 4.1
Hi Trev, if you were saving the individual raw frames from the camera while live stacking, it would be worth looking at those to see if any of them show a similar effect. If they do then the data coming from the camera is glitching before it gets to SharpCap. In that case, the things to check would ...

Re: Image Problem
Hi, you may have configured SharpCap to automatically restore the camera settings from the last use of the camera - if that is enabled then one of the settings that will be restored is the configuration of the display histogram stretch/invert option. So, if you had used the histogram adjustments a p...

Re: Crashing during flat capturing
Hi,
there's currently no way to turn off the message about the unsupported CPU - it will appear each time you run SharpCap to warn you that using certain advanced functions will cause the software to crash.
sorry,
Robin

Re: Dark frame is completely dark on SV605cc
I have few questions: 1 - Have I done right by using same Black level for Darks and Stacking? 2 - Have I done right when using Darks made through 500msec exposures' for Stacking 5sec. exposures? 3 - And last but not least - I am having difficult time to understand why Black level should be higher, ...

Re: SharpCap V4.1 Compatibility with PLL Eagle LE
Hi,
I think I might be able to help with that - it looks like the updated 'SharpCap.exe' 32-bit file for 4.1 is missing a flag that tells the operating system that it can use more than 2Gb of memory. If I can apply that flag for the next update then it should help...

Re: My Python scripts broke between 4.1.11137.0 and 4.1.12025.0
Ah, yes, the BinFactor is the number of pixels that are being binned together, so for 2x2 binning, it is going to be 4, 3x3 will give 9 and so on. Some cameras also have the possibility for asymmetric bin like 2x3 or 3x4. I have reinstated the Bin property and Move to make them usable by scripting i...
