Re: Best Score option in the Focus Graph
Hi, ah, yes, I removed the 'Goto Best Score' button in SharpCap 4.1 for a number of reasons... 1) It was very rarely used 2) It could be unreliable if on the second scan it didn't find as good a focus as on the first scan 3) The only real justification for it was to deal with focusers that couldn't ...

Re: When starting SharpCap
Hi Louis, what version of the Pegasus software are you using? Is it the 'Unity' combined software or the older separate ASCOM drivers? I have a couple of Pegasus focusers here that don't show the problem using the Unity software, so it may be worth updating to the latest version of that. cheers, Robin

Re: Polar Align - Auto-rotation of RA axis
Hi Geoff, yes, I tested the movement buttons myself and found the same thing. I made a global change to the code to try to ensure that buttons became disabled while they were doing whatever action they did. That was all well and good for most buttons, but for those movement buttons it stopped the 'r...

Re: long esposure prevents later short exposure
Hi Hemostar, good to hear that you got it working and good luck getting it all to work correctly live during the eclipse! On the subject of sleep, I do manage to get enough - usually... I tend to answer forum questions once a day, which helps keep the amount of time I spend on them under control and...

Re: Sharpcap crashes in Planetray Stack
Hi Ken, it's running out of memory - it doesn't look like an issue with the code, just that live stacking at the full resolution of your camera uses a lot of memory - the representation of the stack at 9576*6388, 3 colour channels, 32 bits per channel is 750Mb! It would be more if you use the multi-...

Re: Satellite Removal with Live Stacking
Hi Geoff, if you get the settings right for your camera/telescope combination then the only thing likely to throw it off are different types of satellite. The size of a satellite will affect how bright it looks, and the altitude will affect the speed, so you might find that you set it up on relative...

Re: Scap keeps saving flats as fits.......want tiffs
Ah, OK.
It looks like the code for the flat capture only considers PNG and FITS as the possible formats - it will use the one of those that you have set as default, but doesn't consider TIFF. I will have to fix that (probably darks too).
thanks for reporting
Robin

Re: long esposure prevents later short exposure
Hi, you are using the wrong steps and settings to adjust the exposure in your sequence. In two places you have ADJUST CONTROL "Auto Exp Max Exp MS" BY 50 This will adjust the maximum auto exposure time, not the actual manual exposure time, so it is setting the wrong control. Also, the 'Adj...

Re: Polar Align - Auto-rotation of RA axis
Hi Geoff, yes, looks like something has gone wrong with those buttons - I will investigate. The main movement buttons seem to work fine. You can test this sort of thing with 'Test Camera 1 (Deep Sky)'. Just open the camera and then load into it a saved image of the area around the pole - that will l...

Re: Eclipse Sequence Generator
Hi, yes, the notification area can only show one notification, so any built in notifications from SharpCap will wipe any custom notifications from the sequence. There are also a few points where SharpCap deliberatly clears the current notification (starting a capture for instance) since seeing an ol...
