Re: Svbony SV 305 pro camera problems.

Hi, I spoke to SVBony about this issue and they suggested the following: Find and delete the directory C:\Users\<YOUR WINDOWS USER NAME>\AppData\Roaming\CKConfig The easiest way to find this is to start a new Windows Explorer window and enter the following in the address bar %APPDATA% That should la...

Re: Questions about Japanese localization of SharpCapUserManual

Hi,

that link will be correct by the time 4.0 becomes the default version (in about 1 week) - I will be changing the web page at http://www.sharpcap.co.uk/sharpcap/downloads to show the 4.0 downloads.

thanks,

Robin

Re: QHY 268-C sensor analysis delivers false SystemGain (-e/ADU) and Fullwell Cap.

Hi, I have just spent some more time looking through analysis results that have been performed with this camera and with the 268M. All of the 268M results are correct (~50ke , ~85ke in exteneded full well mode). The 268C results vary, and there is a strong correlation between the results and the Whi...

Re: Mallincamsky DS26c cannot make flats

Hi Dan, those errors are a secondary effect from the bias frames failing to capture. Basically SharpCap isn't quite dealing with the missing capture files properly and creates the error report rather than showing a message box saying 'Failed to capture bias frames'. I will fix this crash for the nex...

Re: How to reject frames during live stacking

Hi Lu, no way to delete the frames at the moment, but SharpCap has a stacking mode called 'Sigma Clipped' which will exclude satellite trails if they happen after about the first 10 frames or so. It does this by spotting that the pixel values in the satellite trail are very different from the values...

Re: Adding an Eccentricity filter to livestacking?

Hi Tim, yes, actually the eccentricity comes out of the star detection code already, but SharpCap does nothing with it (beyond a very mild filter that throws away stars with very high eccentricity). If you have some sample frames (good one, bad one, otherwise minimal difference between them) I can t...

Somewhere within about 4-5 degrees of the pole. If polaris is in view it's fine, but not essential.

Re: SharpCap 4.0.7906 - Not remembering Night Mode

Hi, thanks for the report - I broke that all by myself :) I had a bug where SharpCap could crash on exit in some circumstances and it all came down to the night mode code trying to do stuff long after the things it was trying to adjust had already been cleaned up. I thought to myself that I could fi...

Re: Problems with Dither and Debayer

Hi, well I am still a bit confused about the APP colour issue at the moment, but it seems that you have a workaround for that by overriding the default, so let's concentrate on the guiding issue. Please can you capture a log file from SharpCap showing the dithering issue? When I test I see the follo...

Re: PA with a dobsonian

Hi,

glad to hear that the angle limit change helped.

It really doesn't matter whether the platform (or the mount if you were using a mount) is tracking - the rotation amount so close to the pole is tiny and will not affect the results.

cheers,

Robin
