Hi,
any chance of the log from the failed alignment run? It will probably contain enough info for me to at least understand the problem.
cheers,
Robin

Re: Solar Mosaic - Feedback
Hi, the ways to mitigate missing part are: * increase the overlap (if you are getting non overlapping panels) or the safety margin (if you are missing bits around the edge) * Check the alignment after completion by using the 'move to top/left/bottom/right edge' buttons - these should put that edge o...

Re: Focusing
Hi, OK, I think I have worked out the selection box moving - there is a tickbox on the left ' Track target with selection area' - that is designed for use with planets so that if the planet moves around, SharpCap keeps measuring the planet, not the place where the planet used to be. I think that box...

Hi, good to hear that you tracked down the cause, which is definitely a weird one. I would only expect that setting to be altered on a PC used for software development. If you haven't used your PC in this way and have no idea how this has become set, it would be worth doing a full malware scan of th...

Hi, Ok, thanks for that - the place where it stops narrows it down to 2 or 3 lines of code, but no obvious reasons why those lines of code would fail for you but not for everyone else :( I will add some more diagnostic checks in that area for the next update on Monday that will hopefully detect the ...

Re: Weird behavior SC 4.1.11824
Hi, Ok, so I have tried to repro the issue with the missing first frame after exposure change today and the first annoying thing is that I can't repro the issue :(. What I have learned along the way is that it doesn't look like this is todo with PHD2 guiding after all - if guiding is lost and that c...

Hi, sorry to hear that you are having such an awkward problem. Based on the fact that you are not seeing a dump file created and the way that you see the hourglass briefly then nothing, I think SharpCap may be failing very early in application startup - before things like the crash dumps or the log ...

Re: Polar Align - Auto-rotation of RA axis
Hi, I presume that normal buttons work when you use the iPad for remote connection, yes? How about the 'press and hold' buttons for moving the mount in the four directions? The mount ones work a bit differently from the polar alignment ones, so if one works and the other doesn't then I could change ...

Re: Focusing
Hi Geoff, The selection square shouldn't drift while you are focus scanning, but the image could drift depending on the type of telescope and focuser that you have. SCT telescopes are notorious for 'mirror shift' when the focus is adjusted meaning that will move on screen depending on the direction ...

Re: Question FWHM in Livestacking Status tab
Hi,
yes, it's in pixels - SharpCap rarely works in arc seconds, since that requires accurate knowledge of the focal length of the telescope, which often isn't available.
cheers,
Robin
