Re: Better Pause for Live Stacking

Hi, That's odd – I just tried the same thing with the test camera image and didn't get any reset of the stack when using either the blind plate solver from the menu or the plate solver from the mount control. From your comments though it appears you might be using the PHD integration in SharpCap, wh...

Re: 32-bit fits file association issue

Hi,

I think you can do something about this by right clicking on the file, choosing 'open with…' and then selecting the 'choose another app' option. This should give you a list of apps that can open the file and the option to tick the box to say always use whichever app you pick.

Re: SharpCap is slow to open.

Hi, That's odd – that particular web request is run asynchronously, so although it's initialised during the start-up it shouldn't slow things down if the Internet is not available or firewalled at that point (in theory). I suppose it might be that some part of the request happens before the code goe...

Re: CanonSDK ASCOM.DSLR

Hi, Good to hear that you have something working – from the date of the post that you quote I can see that I made some changes to the code after 22 August 2018 that are in the github code base but would not be in that build. I wouldn't have expected those changes to break it, but you never know. One...

Excellent, really glad to hear it's working well for you now.

Don't forget to come back and tell us when you discover a comet! :)

Thanks, I think I'd better set a limit on the exposure time for that procedure.

Re: Problem in 3.2.6086: image stays on after focus assistant close

Hi, I think that because there is a potential feature war between manufacturers over frame rates, they all do their very best to get the very highest frame rate possible out of each model of sensor. Some of the tricks they use push the USB system beyond its normal spec. Sometimes this works fine but...

Re: Brain icon doesn't show - I have a valid license

Hi, The measured sky brightness depends on the F ratio of the scope you are using as well as the actual light pollution level, any filters in use and the quantum efficiency of the camera sensor. Sky brightness is proportional to one upon F ratio squared, so will be four times smaller for an F/10 sco...

Re: Brain icon doesn't show - I have a valid license

:(

I have a QHY 178C here where the white balance controls range from 1 to 255 and the default (neutral) white balance is 64. I will have to base it off of the camera name so that when it is the QHY247C it will set a default White balance of 1.
