Re: PA with smaller FOV?

Hi, The field of view calculator at https://astronomy.tools/calculators/field_of_view/ indicates that your field of view would be about 0.85 x 0.58° which is getting on towards the minimum value that is likely to work. I think some people have had success with fields of view like this, but you're st...

Re: SharpCap Pro not connecting with AZ-EQ 5 skywatcher mount

Hi, It looks like some of your images and attachments may have gone missing – there may be a limit to the number of attachments you can put on a single post. This setup of using the EQ Ascom driver with a SkyWatcher mount should work correctly – I use it personally with my NEQ6, so it is probably a ...

Re: How do I read the information that I need from my sensor analysis in regards to optimal settings to use my camera

Hi, For this particular model of camera you can see that there is a very big drop in the read noise between gain 800 and gain 900. Because of this it's often worth using these cameras with the gain value to set to 900 to take advantage of the much lower read noise. For an accurate suggestion on what...

Re: How do I get free of the Pro License?

Hi, When you buy a SharpCap Pro license for £10/$15/€12, what you get is access to the SharpCap Pro features for 12 months from the date of purchase. If you let the licence run out and don't renew then SharpCap will go back to being the free version automatically after the 12 months have run out – y...

Re: Cool down and warm up routine for ProTec cameras

Hi,

This will form part of the sequencing tool that will be in the next major version. I'm not sure if there will be a separate tool to do cool down or warm up, but it would be possible to create a save sequence with just the cool down or warm up steps in it and then run that sequence.

Re: Ho do I know the best brightness to use/try

Hi, The best way to pick your brightness is to set the exposure and the gain to roughly the values that you expect to use, then cover the telescope to allow SharpCap to start showing dark frames, show the histogram and then adjust the brightness if necessary to make sure that the peak of the histogr...

Re: Cannot Connect or Configure Focuser

Hi, It looks like the error is coming from within the Ascom code, but since it is happening for every single focuser that you try it seems unlikely that it's related to the hardware or focuser driver for your hardware. I would suggest making sure that you have the latest version of the Ascom platfor...

Re: CanonSDK ASCOM.DSLR

Hi, I don't think that the build tools will have a big impact here, but one thing that does occur to me is that initially I created my own branch of this code which I think is called 'dev' in the github repository. I'm fairly sure that's what I built the test version from. Later on I decided it woul...

Re: Setup ANSVR when auto detect does not find it

Hi,

Use the browse button next to the manual entry and browse to the 'solve-field' file which will be in the installation directory for ansvr somewhere. Once you click okay the manual location box should show the full path and filename to that file.
