Re: Preview Image Position and Zoom.

Hi Rich,

Sorry, but as far as I know, there's no way to get the coordinates of those two points by the scripting language. Making those available to scripting would require a change to sharpcap.

Re: QHY367C

Hi Vic, Your screenshots shows that you have the camera running in rgb24 mode comma where is it would be best to run it in one of the raw modes, either raw 8 or raw 16. In those modes you will have choice of debayer pattern but you may find that the camera just works better anyway. I also noted that...

Re: ASI294MCPro Sensor Library

Hi Don, Z w o added a a feature to let sharpcap ask the bit depth of the sensor which I started to use at one point. The trouble was that it gave the wrong result for some sensors, including giving a bit depth of 12 for sensors that were really 14 bit. Once I spotted this I stopped using that SDK ca...

Re: Touptek direct show..for Robin

Hi there, I'm afraid I have no idea on the colour settings , but for the gain I suspect that the TT camera use as a multiplicative gain where has the z w a camera has again that is measured in 0.1 decibel increments. That means that if the minimum gain for the TT camera is 100 comma then again of 30...

Re: Newbie "fits" question

Hi, The streaks in your images are actually caused by hot pixels from the camera. It looks like you have an altitude azimuth mount which means the streaks a curves as you have field rotation as well as a bit of drift. So what's going on is that the actual stars appear as disc sore spots because shar...

Re: Brightness and White Balance Adjustments after Smart Histogram Brain

Hi, Ok, I see now that you want to use the settings for darks and that the offset is too low for those frames. There's no harm in using a higher offset than the brain recommends as long as you use the same offset for the dark frames in the light frames. I can see that it might be a good idea to upda...

Re: Basler daA1280-54um only in DirectShow in older systems

Hi, The fact that the camera works under the genicam option makes me suspect it's not a pure USB problem. If it was a pure USB problem the camera wouldn't work at all. One trick is to try using a USB 2 cable even though it's a USB 3 camera sometimes that helps. It would also be interesting to see a ...

Re: Drop Frames ASI1600MMCool

Hi,
That error code comes from the z w o SDK not from sharpcap. It's difficult to be sure what the causes but it's often a USB communication failure. Sounds like you've done all the right things to try and minimise this problem. We have to just keep an eye on this for now.

Re: Brightness and White Balance Adjustments after Smart Histogram Brain

Hi,
The brain algorithm wants to separate the histogram from the left-hand side. Often it doesn't need to add any offset to do that because the sky brightness is sufficient. When that happens it will suggest minimum offset but you can always go a little higher.

Thank you,

I am attempting to answer some questions using Google voice typing. It seems to work fairly well but please excuse any weird words or strange punctuation.
