Re: Crash: Altair Hypercam 183C and 1x1 Binning

I think I found the problem - please try the newly uploaded version 3.1.5186 which I think should resolve the issue.

Re: Getting hold of the pause button in Live Stacking

So, to tell if the live stacking panel is open and hence live stacking is active, use print SharpCap.LiveStacking.IsActive I think that property and the 'Paused' property pretty much cover everything - you can either have * live stacking off or * live stacking on or * live stacking on but paused che...

Re: ASI1600 and offset

Sorry, that's just inconsistent terminology in the brain dialog, which refers to this setting as 'black level'. Unfortunately different camera manufacturers describe this as variously * brightness * offset * black level so it's hard for SharpCap to be consistent with all manufacturers. Except for ve...

Re: Crash: Altair Hypercam 183C and 1x1 Binning

Hi, thanks for posting - I received an email from Nick at Altair this morning that I think refers to your problem - so far I've only had time to have a quick look, but my first impression is that it seems that under some circumstances SharpCap is not setting aside enough memory when requesting a fra...

Re: planetary images- best format

Hi, AVI/SER offer much faster write rates (no compression, simple format, single file) so are preferred for lunar/solar/planetary. Unless you have a true reason to require AVI format, I would *always* recommend SER output for this type of imaging as there are far fewer issues with compatibility with...

Re: Pegasus Astro DMFC Focuser Bug/Crash

Do come back to me if they are unresponsive to fixing this. I will anyway try to fix the crash caused by the -ve value (as crashes are always bad).

thanks,

Re: ASI1600 and offset

Hi, so my take on this is that the ZWO ASCOM driver you have installed (and that SGP is using) is utilizing an older version of the ZWO SDK that still had offset. I have the 1600MM-Cool (not Pro) and I still see the 'brightness' control (which is offset for ZWO cameras) in the latest version (see be...

Re: Sub-stacks ?

@Steve, you imply that you are saving the RAW frames during stacking otherwise disk consumption would not be an issue. Not sure how that would be improved with an 'auto reset' on live stacking as the RAW frames would still be there. I can see though that the idea of this sort of auto-reset has now b...

Re: QHY163C and SharpCap Changing Exposure/Gain Problem After SharpCap Update

Hi, My first question is... do you have the very latest QHY drivers? I had problems with the new SDK version until I update the drivers to the latest version. If you are up-to-date on drivers then I would be tempted to work through some tests with adjusting the USB settings in case a value that work...

Re: camera linearity and brain/smart histogram

Hi, short answer : No... long answer : Smart Histogram/Brain is about optimizing the exposure/gain choice to give best signal-to-noise ratio for faint signals, so the linearity of the camera sensor as it approaches full well isn't very important as the stuff of interest is always at the other end of...
