Re: Help for Scripting my AVI camera
Hi Dave, you will find a good deal of help in the sources Peter has quoted, but here are some more snippets to get you going # Select a camera by name SharpCap.SelectedCamera = SharpCap.Cameras.Find(lambda x:x.DeviceName == 'GPCAMAR0130C') # Setup a capture limited to 15s, then 120s wait, repeat 10 ...

Re: New SharpCap 3.0 Beta Available
Updated build (3.0.3813) now uploaded which fixed a problem introduced in build 3811 that could cause crashes when capturing for some users. In trying to make the program start up faster I'd gone a little too far and sometimes the list of cameras attached cameras could be scanned before certain othe...

New 2.9 Build Available - 2.9.3085
This build fixes one additional bug over 2.9.3080 - that is the problem with the notification bar not showing intermittently on some high resolution cameras.
Now also available via auto-update.
cheers,
Robin

Re: Vertcial drizzle lines on live stacking
Hi Clive, I can see your post on Facebook, but Facebook has shrunk it down and seems to have destroyed the detail that's important in this case. I'm afraid I have a size limit for attachments on here to avoid the hosting server filling up and to keep the backup requirements from getting out of hand....

Re: Vertcial drizzle lines on live stacking
Interesting - are you also guiding the scope? I ask because if you are not guiding then the slow natural drift of the pointing of the telescope would usually be expected to smear out any pattern noise from the camera (effectively the same as deliberately dithering). If you are using the 3.0 beta the...

Re: SC version 2.9.3080.0 Notification Bar doesn't always appear after capture sequence completes
Ah yes, got it now. I can make it happen with my 1600MM, but only in MONO16 mode. It's one of those annoying bugs where all the code seems to be doing the right thing to tell the notification to appear but it still doesn't. Fortunately it turned out that 3.0 worked correctly, which is due to the cha...

Re: ROI
Hi Bert,
you can do this already for most cameras - see http://docs.sharpcap.co.uk/2.9/#!2!Capt ... and%20Area and look at the 'Capture Area' and 'ROI Position' controls. Doing this usually improves the frame rate too.
cheers,
Robin

Re: Skip Advanced Capture
Hi, I'm afraid that the 'skip advanced capture' option isn't what you're looking for - that initialize call is designed to be called only once by the SharpCap application when setting up and calling it again won't have any good effects. Anyway, that option simple tells SharpCap not to load direct dr...

Donations have been turned *off*
Just to let people know that because SharpCap 3.0 is going to have a paid for 'Pro' option, I will no longer be accepting donations any more from 14th April 2017. I have removed all the links I can find on the SharpCap web pages and the links in the latest version of 2.9 and 3.0. I will not be relea...

New SharpCap 3.0 Beta Available
I've just uploaded a new beta build of SharpCap 3.0 (previously 2.10). This build contains the normal raft of bug fixes and also a range of improvements such as improved startup speed, improved UI, splash screen, user manual, improvements to polar alignment, etc, etc, etc. As usual, beta downloads c...
